  1. The table looking very interesting after only 9 games played. yesterdays results Lochgelly 7-3 Linton Fauldhouse 1-1 ormiston Livingston 4-3 Newburgh Stoneyburn 3-3 Edinburgh Utd Pumpherston 2-3 Edinburgh cfc next weeks fixtures Edinburgh CFC v Livingston utd Edinburgh utd v Newburgh Hawick v fauldhouse Ormiston v Lochgelly
  2. Round up + todays match report from todays game I attended with a good friend. Campbeltown pupils 0-5 Linton. Pumpherston 4-0 stoneyburn ormiston 1-4 Cowdenbeath Newburgh 2-3 civil service strollers. newtongrange 2-1 Hawick AET Fauldhouse 7-1 Edinburgh cfc todays match report comes from station park!! Livingston utd v Bo’ness utd. I thought today a lot of the third division teams would suffer some heavy defeats at the hands of the lowland league outfits in these cup ties, however not the case and certainly wasn’t the case at station park today. the game started with Bo’ness Utd dominating the ball and playing most of their football in the Livingston half. Livingston looked very well organised and frustrated Bo’ness into their own mistakes. Couple of chances for Bo’ness to break the deadlock after a cross from the wide area was headed over. Another chance for Bo’ness minute later after the big Livingston centre half got the ball stuck under his foot, only for the Bo’ness striker to steal it off him and race clear, however he couldn’t beat the Livingston keeper who went on to have a good game. Livingston had a couple of chances themselves in the first half. header that forced the Bo’ness keeper into a save from a long throw and a couple of deep free kicks were unlucky not to find the target. Livingston looked to be growing in confidence, Bo’ness looked like they weren’t going to break Livingston down until a minute before half time when a well worked move down their left hand side and cross into the box found the head of the Bo’ness Utd midfielder who opened the scoring. sore on Livingston who never really put a foot wrong and had worked so hard. 2nd half the second half started pretty much the same as the first, Bo’ness had made 4 changes at half time. Bo’ness started with dominating the ball and Livingston remaining tough to break down. 25 minutes left to play and Livingston made their changes with tiredness setting in after the work that was put in. however the changes weren’t just for fresh legs, the third division outfit changed formation and started having a go at the lowland league outfit. with this Livingston started to move up the park, get a few set pieces and started to look more of a threat. a few shots from distance and a bit more energy in their play. however with this comes more space for Bo’ness and they capitalised on this with 15 minutes to play when another well worked cross found the foot of the Bo’ness striker standing inside the six yard box to make it 2-0. unlucky for the Livingston goalkeeper who got two hands to it, but couldn’t prevent the second goal. I thought the remaining 15 minutes would maybe add another 2/3 goals for Bo’ness Utd. Livingston dusted themselves down and really started going at Bo’ness Utd. a deep free kick for Livingston found the head of the Livingston striker who knocked it down to the centre half who looks to have been tripped inside the box, screams for a penalty by the Livingston team and bench… but nothing giving. (I thought it was a penalty on first viewing) a couple of minutes later and a Livingston free kick nearly found the back of the net, Bo’ness Utd keeper was scrambling across his goals to pull off a good save. with 5 left to play Livingston broke away, good link up play by the two strikers to create a good chance for the home side, however A good defensive last ditch tackled prevented the ball rattling the back of the net. With a minute left on the clock Bo’ness got a free kick 20 yards out. well struck by the Bo’ness midfielder and a good save by the Livingston keeper, only for Bo’ness to have a striker gambling in the area to pounce and put the game to bed. 3-0 and the game was done. a very good battle between 2 teams and an exciting game for the neutral. Livingston looked very well organised on and off the ball today. Bo’ness looked comfortable on the ball and took their goals really well. vloggy (-)
  3. ormiston and Edinburgh cfc both pick up another point on the table after the game finishes 1–1. Linton hotspur see past harthill to advance to the next round of the Alex jack winning 2-1 at home. Newburgh are out of the Alex jack after falling to the hands of “the hoose” fauldhouse winning on penalties 4-2 after 1-1 in normal time. Edinburgh United crashed out of the competition after a heavy defeat away to kennoway star hearts 7-1. Livingston Utd won away to Giffnock in the Scottish cup 3-3 (4-3 on penalties) Pumpherston win 4-0 up in Elgin to advance to the next round of the Scottish.
  4. Linton picking up back to back wins yesterday. my friend who took the game in said it was a very scrappy game with two sides battling hard, only thing that separated the two teams was a goal of the season contender from Linton. stoneyburn down 2-0 at half time but coming out a completely different animal in the second half to hammer 6! Yes 6! Past Newburgh. Edinburgh utd v Hawick seemed to be the same as the Linton v Livingston game. scrappy Affair with one a single goal separating the teams, Hawick last season were nice and quiet about their business and seems to be the same this season. Pumpherston come flying out the traps against ormiston and going in at half time leading, only to then go on to lose that lead and lose the game to Ormiston. fauldhouse grabbing their first 3 points of the season yesterday against Edinburgh cfc, some good football played in this game and a really good game for the neutral. it’s good to see that this weekends game were hard fought and some good comebacks. now for midweek fitbaw!! vloggy
  5. I have taken in a few pre season games in the third division and not many teams looked the same as how they finished the season. Yesterdays results: Edinburgh CFC 1-5 Edinburgh Utd. Hawick 2-2 Pumpherston Lochgelly 6-2 Fauldhouse Newburgh 1-2 Linton hotspur Ormiston 0-1 Stoneyburn. EOS Cup Livingston 2-1 Burntisland. really good to see Linton picking up a victory yesterday as they hope to have a better season this year. Stoneyburn picking up a victory and a clean sheet to kick start their season. Hawick and Pumpherston both grab a point on the board in what I’m told was a good game. Edinburgh utd bounced back after a couple of poor pre season results with a great 5-1 scoreline. Livingston utd putting Burntisland out the cup will be huge for Livingston as Burntisland are second division team. I took in the ormiston game yesterday and thought it was a very scrappy encounter but a couple of chances for both teams before the stoneyburn striker found himself free in the box with a good diving header to take all 3 points back to the village of stoneyburn. not the prettiest of games but, old school football with loads of passion, fight and determination was on show. I loved it. (vloggy)
  6. Stoneyburn 3-0 Fauldhouse Great local derby game to take in on a Monday night. old school tackles, little bits off the ball and 2 good goals from the stoneyburn centre half!! 2 free kicks, one from distance high into the top corner. fauldhouse had chances but just couldn’t capitalise, (all about goals this game) Well done to both teams this season, hope to see a few more derbies like that next season. man of the match was the stoneyburn centre half for me with his fantastic free kick. stoneyburn have 1 game remaining and it’s the last game in the third division this season as they look for another bumper crowd against Livingston utd who have 4 points in their last two games, stoneyburn having 6 points in their last two games. seems to be a good relationship between the two teams going off stoneyburns social media posts regarding the last time to two teams met at station park when stoneyburn ran out 4-1 winners. 7. I’ve only just started going around the Scottish teams now as I’m an ex junior player. visiting some old and new grounds. this season has been a good one for twists and turns. West calder, Bathgate and harthill have been great to watch and deservedly going up. hawick, fauldhouse and Pumpherston have also been good for the highs and lows to of football. stoneyburn been very entertaining to watch with a great bunch of young players. lochgelly Albert have been the big improvers for me, they’ve took time at the start of the season to adapt to life in the third division but got going now. Will be a team to watch next year. Edinburgh community have struggled since the departure of their manager and I hope they can bounce back while rebuilding. linton the new kid on the block are finding their feet still. Chris will be looking to use his knowledge around the game to help them continue to build on what they’ve started and big game tomorrow with a bottom of the barrel clash with Livingston. (game of the weekend which I’ll attend) livingston haven’t had a great season, especially having not won a game until the new manager Colin has come in. was at their game last night against harthill. they’ve brought in a lot of young players and are rebuilding as much as they can having picked up 4 points with 2 games to go and should have beaten harthill.
