  1. Alight lads, earlier this evening I recorded a podcast with young Greig Spence - CLICK.

The podcast starts and finishes with him talking about his time at Alloa; there's also plenty of stuff in there about his time at Celtic, Hamilton and Raith Rovers. Something for everyone!

I think he comes across very well in it. He's probably been my favourite person to speak to since we started the series.

Great in-depth interview, Craig. Well done.

  2. I reckon Martin will go onto have a very solid career in the 2 lower leagues - he has the attributes. Not quite good enough to cut it at our current lofty heights though, as others have noted.

Meanwhile, Murray could do worse than having a pick at Butcher's leftovers in Leith to get some more squad cover through to the end of the season.

After Sir Jimmy the Nick has got the best of them.

  3. Love the title of this thread - in fact it's the best bit about it. Would make a great film - with moody, bluesy soundtrack composed by Sons supporter Howlin' Wilf and performed by his band Harmonica Lewinski. The film could have slow-motion (actually real time) highlights of Dumbarton players running, while the Dumbarton sports scientist and sprint coach sobs on the touchline. How about it, Wilf?

  4. Laurie Ellis to get a Testimonial.

Ally Gourlay writes on Fan Talk.

As you will all know, Laurie Ellis has been one of ther best servants of recent years to Raith Rovers. And this year sees him complete 10 years of service to the club who have granted him a testimonial season.

Great guy, Laurie Ellis, and a credit to the game. Well deserved. Hope it goes well.

  5. In any walk of life, if you are appealing against a sentence (which is what Livingston are doing), you continue to serve that sentence until such times that it's reduced (which may be never).

Correct. Last week, the SFL relegated Livvy to the third division. Only if the appeal is successful will Livvy cease to be a third division club - which is why they were due to play East Stirlingshire today. The sad thing is that failure to fulfill that fixture may result in Livvy being thrown out of Scottish football altogether. I hope not, but if it does happen it will be a self-inflicted fatal wound. By any standards, waving two fingers at the people who've thrown you a life-line is a form of madness.
