If he signs and scores a goal he has to do the going down on his knees and holding one nostril closed as he sniffs up the byeline goal celebration...............................or perhaps not, don't think that would go down well with the holy willies.

Yes him and martindale can do it together.

How are Livi affording all these players?

You have similar crowds to us and presumably the reduced income from charging less for entry is relative to the rent you pay for the stadium (presumably less than us due to your stadium owner being the council).

You already had decent depth in your squad but you've added De Vita, who must be on a decent wage coming from a premiership team, and now McMillan who won't be on buttons either.

Is there something obvious I'm missing? Have you taken $tranraer's bookkeeper on loan for the season?

I'm sure everyone appreciates it wouldn't be unheard of for Livi to spend outwith their means?

Maybe we have a good financial plan in place and we might actually be doing something productive with our money for a change plus the plan probably is get us up so we can make all the money back.

In a way airdrie United fans have a cheeck talking about money since Airdrieonians (1878) died the original newco.

Keep saying daft things and people will respond. Kind of how forums like this work.  Just what "productive" thing do you think Livi are doing with their money exactly? A nice high interest savings account? Stocks and shares?

It was a fair question given Livingston's recent history. And hardly one that just Airdrie fans are asking. No need to get upset.

Why would De Vita and McMillan need to be on big wages? De Vita couldn't find a club in the summer so will be wanting to keep himself fit/playing and in the shop window, similarly with McMillan after being out for so long he'll want to get himself back on the pitch and impress bigger clubs.

We hardly made any big signings either, probably spending less than we were last season with the players we released.

Our players are on low full time wages, I have it on good authority that teams like Peterhead are paying more on players than us, Mcalister is on £1300 a week.

Lets not kid around, ofcourse we are running at a loss, the club have said as much, we are taking a gamble on gaining promotion but aren't paying over the odds for any of these players.

De vita is on pennies, he's here to put himself back in the shop window for next season, likewise if we do sign McMillan it will be the same.

How's Airdrie's finances this season with you going FT, must be paying your players big wages, how can you afford it?

Good question (apart from the big wages bit - we've a lot of youngsters and no depth). Certainly wouldn't think it's viable in the long run. New owner has invested to enable us to go full time and while it's nice to show ambition etc not sure what would happen if he loses interest.

On a separate note, thought Livi deserved the win in the end today. Where was Liam Watt, is he injured? And is Cadden normally on the bench now?

I thought it was odd that Watt wasn't on the bench today, is it only 5 subs in Scottish cup ? Either way he's not been given much of a chance this season, think he could offer us something but the way we set up Pittman is an automatic pick as is Miller, we then have Sinclair and Byrne who is being preferred just now.

Cadden has been in and out of the team, it's been between him and Josh Mullin who's started and who's been on the bench.

Cheers. Was interested in how they're getting on. Maybe not working out quite as they expected then (more so Watt by the sounds of it).

Was just messing after the assumption De Vita was on a big wage. As Andy said De Vita wasn't with a team and was desperate to get playing, same would be the case for McMillan if we sign him. Both will be looking for teams playing in the Premiership or top end of the Championship likely to gain promotion to the Premiership and playing for Livi will get them in the shop window so to speak.

I doubt Airdrie or Livi can stay FT if we don't get promotion this season, just isn't enough money in League One to do that. The infrastructure at Livi with the stadium etc prob also makes it impossible to be PT, we really need a move to a smaller stadium to do that, costs too much playing there if we were PT, we can barely survive being FT playing there even in the Championship..

Yeah that only works if someone is actually upset. Im fairly calm as you should be able to tell from my other posts  tonight.

I am confused though re the united name thing. Does Ferranti Meadowbank Thistle bother you? Thought not. So just enjoy your night and maybe even a sneaky wee can of your dads lager.
