jagfox
Saw SOAD about five or six years ago at the Shed. Seated but right behind the sound desk. It was a splendid gig and the best sound at the secc I've encountered.
Mik
^^^This. Only bands I've seen sound good in the Shed are SOAD, Pearl Jam and Tenacious D. I slate the place quite a bit but looking back over the gigs i've attended at the SECC most of them have been pretty great. Particularly; Kiss, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Priest Feast and Both Unholy Alliances That's right i'm a sad b*****d who keeps records of bands, support, dates and venues Edited November 26, 2014 by Mik
mrcat1990
Big metal bands seemed to work OK in the SECC, generally better than your average guitar band who would get swallowed by the echo and emptiness of it all. Eta SOAD played Glasgow in SECC in 2005. Last Uk gig for them was Reading/Leeds. Edited November 26, 2014 by mrcat1990

jagfox
I have seen Maiden three times there. Brave New World tour supported by Halford, and the matter of life and death album one where I met Dominik Diamond and their last album too. All had decent sound. I saw Priest and Scorpions there too.
Ira Gaines
The SECC is a good test for a live act. If you're good enough, the place won't be a problem.
NorthernLights
I saw SOAD over 12 years ago Still got my ticket... Really tempted by this date in London. For some reason I never got round to seeing them again. Edited November 26, 2014 by NorthernLights

You'll go up in my estimation immeasurably if you tell me that you punched the caant. Saw SOAD at Leeds and they got barely an hour while Green Day played forever. Still brilliant though. Might go see them in Paris the week after as I could fit in AZ Alkmaar on the Saturday and Ajax on the Sunday? Dave Matthews Band were awesome in the barnyard, one of my all time greatest gigs in front of a woefully small crowd.
NorthernLights
Anyone get tickets for SOAD? By the time I remembered the standing was sold out and didn't even bother checking for seating.
NorthernLights
King 810 will support Slipknot on their UK tour. They seem to get a lot of publicity but I've not actually heard any of their stuff.
moredanlife
Horrendously awful band that sound like something straight outta 2001 with a hilariously bad tough guy aesthetic. They came to prominence about two years ago after this delightful incident. Edited December 2, 2014 by moredanlife
Ranaldo Bairn
Not heard a note, but any band with numbers in their name is unlikely to be good. I include 1349 and Level 42 in that.
K.T
Anyone got any idea what time the garage's curfew for bands normally is? I'm going to At the Gates on Saturday and I'm not bothered about the support bands so trying to guess what time they will be going on.
Ranaldo Bairn
Dunno, but I would like to see the support bands. What's the chances of me getting a parking space on Renfrew street at 6pm on a Saturday? Any other sneaky parking recommendations round there?

Dunning1874
With it being a Saturday it'll definitely be done by half 10, maybe even 10.
Ranaldo Bairn
Really? Is that to clear up for a 'nitespot' affair afterwards? Poor show. Anyway, I'll be the Gordon Freeman lookalike standing at the back with a heavy cold if anyone wants to say hello.
