From PA Sport:

McCoist further invests in Rangers

Rangers boss Ally McCoist has confirmed he spent “a few quid” on buying up shares in the club’s open offer this month.

The club raised £3.13million in their latest rights issue, falling short of their £4million target, but McCoist revealed on Monday that he dipped into his own pocket to invest.

Rangers announced that several plc directors had increased their shareholdings – most significantly James Easdale, who purchased 215,606 of the 20p shares.

The Ibrox board had set a minimum target of selling 15million shares and exceeded that by 667,860.

McCoist – who already owned over a million shares, giving him a stake of just under two per cent – said ahead of Tuesday night’s League Cup tie with Inverness: “I did invest. Without going into too much detail, I just thought it was the right thing to do.”

Asked if he had ploughed a “substantial” sum into the rights issue, he replied: “It depends how you would look on it as substantial. A few quid, yes.”

Oooo the little liar.

"I am not a financial man, I don't see the accounts, I don't know the accounts, I don't know the expenditure, I don't know the ins and outs, with the greatest of respect that is not my job.

"My job is to hopefully pick a team that can get us out the division and win games and that is what I am concentrating on.

"If there is a side to it where we go into that situation again I would expect to be informed but I certainly haven't been anything other than reassured.

Not really ... it would depend entirely on the situation, delivery, body language and the manner of the person making the quip.

If I was introduced to a stranger in a group of friends and he made a joke it's clear whether there is an undertone, you just give it back as good as you get ... If he takes offence then you simply apologise and assure them that no offence was intended and suggest he refrains from cracking jokes about others in the future.

It's usually patently clear by a person's tone and delivery whether there is malice intended and they are spoiling for a fight or they are genuinely joking.

That said many a bar fight has started out with 'top bantz' ...

Same at a football match I've witnessed.

Here's the drill on the BRALT thread these days, the bears know their club is going into shit creek without a paddle at some point in the future so they now scour the thread for anything they can construe into something that was never ever intended and we spend days arguing over shit.

Feel free to add if I have missed any of the resident bears now do to pollute the thread into anything other than their club in the shitter. :)

No, actually I'm intrigued with Tedi's claim that Rangers will be the 2nd most well off club in Scotland by Friday, despite this http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/rangers/financial-experts-rangers-warning-180534n.25322293 ET not in the loop I suspect.

I'm intrigued as to what they have on Alistair that made him buy into this share issue.

The article above doesn't even cover the staff bonuses that are rumoured not to have been paid yet, at least one player signing on fee is unpaid and past due, Wallace's bonus/pay off ..

That cash will not last to Christmas ....

End of October or mid November the alarm bells will be sounding again ....

And all the time Rangers will be playing to a half empty Ibroke.

I see the red and black scarves are back in stock at Follow Follow. :lol:http://www.followfollow.com/news/tmnw/the_red_and_black_scarf_is_back_841210/index.shtml

Alloa lead, Rangers trail beinhd :-(

Alloa Athletic have announced a deal to rename their home ground The Indodrill Stadium.

Chairman Mike Mulraney announced the six-figure agreement with the drilling firm, which was formed in Indonesia in 1993.

The Championship side's Recreation Park ground will now be renamed for the next ten seasons.

Mike Mulraney said: “This partnership between Indodrill and Alloa Athletic will see both parties benefit, an international brand linking to our club, is a further step in the journey we are on to ensure Alloa Athletic’s long term success both on and off the park.”

The partnership will be launched by Indodrill's managing director John Horne later this month.

Alloa sit seventh in the Scottish Championship table with six points from five matches.

Not that great a deal then, £10k a year for 10 years is a 6-figure sum in total.

Still better than £1, right enough.

Alloa Athletic come across as a well run club. I hear they were wanting to build a hotel on their land as well, don't know if they already have. I was in Alloa last season but not near the Rec so I didn't get the chance to look.

Hows the development of the land around Ibrox with the mono rail and casino?

I was a Caley fan.

I regret giving my blue and white bar scarf away, it would have been nice to have held on to that.

Please accept my apology for that heinous slight on your character. I have a red and black scarf behind the bog for wiping up dribbles off the seat. Tedi, you wanting it?

I'm not one to get offended by these sort of things, many a time I took the walk up to Kingsmills to watch the Jags. Was there when they beat Kilmarnock 3-0 in the Scottish to set up a clash with Celtic in the next round. Was in school and then at collage with Les Fridge and it was funny watching him trying to imitate Mo Johnston finger clicking goal celebration.

You remember though what colour the bogs at Telford Street were painted?.

edit: btw not often you here the word bogs being used any more ref to the toilets.
