Wouldnt take any notice of League Cup results - managers trying out formations and players in competitive games afore the real business of the league starts.

I know it was only a league cup game but all East Junior fans with the exception of those connected with Ballingry will be happy with that result. With no relegation the Premier will become more open and teams will be slightly more 'up for it' when the play the moneybags side! Although I doubt it will happen, it would be so funny if they never finished top four never mind contemplate them not winning the league.

Indeed it would be very very amusing.

Every team in the East Premier will take heart from that result today. I spoke to a couple of guys who were at the game and both said that Ballingry were never at the races. Well done Kelty. Good on yeez.

4/7 my arse

Do they need to win the league though? - will the chair will be satisified with promotion to the super?

Baikie will be long gone if they aint top 4 at the end of the season but surely all Premier teams will aim for top 4 this season and then see if they have a chance of winning the league.

Heard Smart has signed, 7 or 8k is what I heard, could be wrong though.

Dundee wanted Linn last season buy nothing came of it, was only a matter of time before he went back senior, far too good for the level at which Ballingry Rovers play at.

They can spend all the money they like - it matters what they do on the pitch and as of yet they aint won nothing.

Lets wait and see how they get on next season, it didnt exactly work out for Bruiser Baikie at Linlithgow.

I think you better look at his record at the Rose!!!!!!

I wouldn't laugh too loud mate they're a good side and will definitley get promoted this season and if they keep that side they'll do well in the Super .

Taurus think your far to harsh on your own team mate. Ballingry gotcwhatvtgry deserved from the game which was nothing Sauchie have gone from absolutely nothing to a super league side who today gave best probably the most expensive junior side ever. Big credit to the beechwood lads who were outstanding today well done to the Sauchie players.

Well it has ended in tears after only the 1st season, Baikie has resigned tonight.

Players on big money leaving on the summer, its going to be 1 helluva job for Ballingry next season.

The money men scenario pumping money into football clubs without a love for the club or commitment always ends in tears but not usually this quick.

This type of thing should not be allowed to happen, surely when a money man comes along with his wad, there should be some kind of agreement signed to say he would honour it for a set period. If the person in question decides to call it a day after 12 months its a fvckin joke.

Shocking way to treat other human beings, The hard working committee obviously thought they were doing the right thing in getting this money man in to bankroll their club and their troubles are over.

As for Mr Baikie jumping ship, Mmmm .

It's always a danger if your relying on 1 man.

It's a shame as Ballingry were excellent in accommodating our game with Auchinleck. I'm sure there committee will get stuck into the task for next season though.

Don't think it was a big secret that the manager was going. If he only had the reported 5 players signed for next season, and all the money boys jumping ship, which is their right if only stupidly signed on one year contracts, and not the same budget, he obviously thought time to go. Regardless of all the crap spouted on hear about Baikie, he is a proven winner at junior level, and if you have any doubts go check his record. Because some fans of a certain club don't like him, even although he won the holy grail for them, don't be fooled.

It was him that put them on one year contracts, and now that the going is about to get tough, he has bailed out. Doesn't say much about his character I'll tell you. No doubt he has won things, and his record at Junior level is very good, but this season will go down as a massive failure. Next season would have probably offered one of the biggest challenges for him, with having very few players left, (thanks to himself), and having to work on a budget that is not even close to the one of last year (also partly his fault), but he chose to resign. What he has achieved at Ballingry this season with the money availabe could have been accomplished by anybody.

No doubting his previous track record or the fact he won a Scottish Cup with a largely inherited team. A team which he then chose to dismantle and players and supporters he ailenated with his boring style of football.

People can make their own opinions on his merits - to people at Linlithgow he will always be respected for winning us another Scottish Cup - but unfortunately any lasting legacy was destroyed by his style of management and football.
