Lordofthewing
Happy New Year fellow elecktroids! Thinking of doing a hip-hop version of this - do we think we'd get enough voters? If I can scrape together enough albums, I'll have a go at this.

uberman
Nice to see there's some Kid Carpet and Front 242 fans here, I thought I'd have been the only one to vote for them.
Mambostaggie
There's some fucking cracking albums on that list! Didn't for a minute think I'd see a drexciya album anywhere near that list. I was humming and hawing between the quest and neptunes lair if either person had chosen either way it would have made the top 30. Fantastic number one which I've recently re bought after it was lost in a haze of party's in the 90s. Pretty much the same as a lot of albums on this list, probably explains why everyone got shite Xmas presents this year. Cause Colin made me spend all my money on CD's!

groaninjock
I was sure I'd voted for one of The Fireman albums. Must have bumped it for something else. And I realise now I didn't mean to vote for Bjork's Debut, I meant Post. Fanny.
Colin M
I was sure I'd voted for one of The Fireman albums. Must have bumped it for something else. And I realise now I didn't mean to vote for Bjork's Debut, I meant Post. Fanny. You had Fireman at no 18 (you submitted 20 just in case), so it didn't technically qualify. On Substance, we decided that although it gathers singles, it is generally considered as an album by many people (I think maybe because some of the tracks aren't on any of the proper albums).
Breaking Decency
So I was the only person that voted for Slam - Alien Radio and Basement Jaxx - Remedy? Quite surprised by that.
Colin M
So I was the only person that voted for Slam - Alien Radio and Basement Jaxx - Remedy? Quite surprised by that. I was pondering Headstates by Slam, didn't take to Alien Radio in the same way. Was delighted to get to write about Herbert but as the votes came in, I was hoping that Drexciya, Burial, Theo Parrish and Autechre would slip in as well. Just too many good albums to choose from really.

endieinreekie
Got an email from Amazon today advertising downloaded dance albums for under £4, includes Mezzanine by Massive Attack, Endtroducing by DJ Shadow and Discovery by Daft Punk. There's probably more but i haven't had a proper look yet.

Randle P McMurphy
I thought I would bump this thread after spending a most enjoyable few hours adding these albums into a Spotify playlist whilst reading Colin's reviews. (I did add Burial's first album as a personal highlight in place of Herbert which wasn't available) I must agree with what most have said on this and the top 30 hip-hop thread that you have a real talent for reviews Colin, you owe it to yourself to try to pursue this further if you do enjoy it.

Thanks very much for your kind words I have certainly enjoyed doing these two threads, although the pace at which the hip hop one is going indicates I don't have as much time for it as I did two years ago!

jimmy boo
Good to see the classic Rubycon by Tangerine Dream and Man Machine by Kraftwerk on the final list. They would be my definition of electronic music.
