If Rangers win scottish cup do they qualify for europa league?

Recommended Posts

I don't know why everyone is getting so hung up with accounts when quite clearly UEFA consider them not to be eligible on the basis that they have not been licensed for 3 consecutive years. Only when they have held licence with the SFA for a period of 3 years will further criteria -such as accounts - be considered. At this stage the production or otherwise of accounts is irrelevant.

So when the 'club' was bought, what happened to the licence?

Did it get lost or something?

Can Rangers International not ask BDO for a copy of the club's accounts from the pre transfer era? Did Chucky Green not get a copy when he tried to buy the company from D&P? If they are the same club the surely a copy of the old company's accounts would suffice and the European exclusion would be limited to one season, as has been the case for others falling foul of the FFP rules?

Best write up another letter to the CAB mate....

Is the obvious reason the fact that your club wouldn't get past the first team they were drawn against, therefore doing absolutely zero for the co-efficient?... :)

You mean like Malmo or some Lithuanian diddies. :1eye

Bluenose in divorced from reality shocker.

Rangers are unlikely to win the SC this season but I have to say I'm finding the reaction of the P&D's to the very idea most pleasing. One can only imagine the wailing and gnashing of teeth (tooth,if you're if in Yorkshire) if this did come to pass....

http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/17116759 This was a case from Derry City FC 2 years ago the same situation, UEFA didn't allow them to compete but then again you never know...

"Because the new club has only been in existence for two years - not three years - we had to apply for a derogation of the rule," said the Derry chairman.

Who is to say though UEFA wouldn't accept Rangers application for a an exemption should it come to that? The suits over in Nyon can be a funny bunch at times.

Do you honestly think Rangers would take that chance? If the outcome was wrong for them it puts the continuation myth to bed.
