newcastle broon
We are all a bit overly obsessed with competition right to the end of the season in Scotland. But on the other hand we want clubs to blood youngsters and develop talent, maybe the absence of these "dead rubber" games (the description tells you all you need to know what scottish fans think of them) are the reason we are being left behind. Why does every match have to have a consequence? Good point. But end of day clubs need funding and paying at gates is a source of income. If games had little or no consequence then crowds would prob be even lower than they are the now. That goes for every senior league,no just the lowland. VodkaTap
So how does admitting a sports centre into the LL - who do not have a ground of their own, or an adult team at the point of application, or a fanbase - fit into all this? In effect they admitted a sheet of paper. That really is a question for those that made the decision. I am not sure many would have anticipated that one. Mind you - I suppose you could argue that BSC Glasgow has as good a potential as any around. With the large numbers they have going through the development stages then by simply the addition of an adult team it provides the complete package, but in reality nobody really knows what might happen next. If the club can get the juniors and parents to come along on a regular basis then they could have a ready made and pretty healthy fanbase The LL are prepared to think out of the box with decisions like this and if they are as successful this time, as they were when East Kilbride were chosen, then all credit to them. Time will tell.
Simplistic
Got to say, it's easier to put an adult team on top of a big youth section that it is the other way round.
