This thing about McHattie being ahead of him seems to be repeated all the time, but I'm not really sure where it comes from. Neilson rotated the full-backs after Eckersley joined but Eckersley still played more often than McHattie (he did the same with Paterson and McGhee). McHattie played his first game back from injury in a midweek game against Raith Rovers but then Eckersley came back in for the next couple of games.
