quickoverayard
Agreed, a fantastic journey with spectacular views. If you go to Philip Island you need to see the Penguin Paradeive seen the march of the peguins mate. The walk down was a trek tho, do theu still have the concerte viewing area? There is a wee place called serrento which is stunning

My wife and sun are heading over on February. Going to Philip Island after Wilson' Prom. Have a night in Cowes. Have 1 night in Port Fairy. Thinking about Apollo Bay as an interim stop. Do a bit of walking etc in between. Then will head to Adelaide after Port Fairy via inland route. Thanks for the advice re SA Eednud.

Nice town Port Fairy. Worth visiting Tower Hill just outside of it, a great chance to see native wildlife, including snakes (relatively safely) !

Honky Tonk Man
Good news about Port Fairy. We are staying at a place called Drift House which looks nice. Won't be golfing but pubs sound like an idea....
Alex_14
3 years ago (where does the time go) I had a 7 week trip through Asia and New Zealand. I spent 3 days in Melbourne and about 8 hours in Sydney and always longed to go back.Life got in the way and I’ve been working for 3 years since then, and have a fairly well paying job and life in Edinburgh. But I’ve always had the itch to go back to Australia and live there for a bit. So... have any of you done the whole working holiday visa thing over there? I’m fairly well versed with the requirements. Just interested to hear any experiences or advice. I’m 24, for the record. Cheers!

It's pricey in Australia if you're converting pounds to AUD, so you probably want to get a job pretty quickly. By all accounts, some of the farm work is akin to slave labour so be careful if you do any. Melbs is a great city though, you'll have a lot of fun there!
