Inverness Caledonian Thistle vs Dundee FC - 13/08/14

If you are incapable of humping Killie at home, I don't say much for your chances.

If its any consolation I can find some sheep dating sites or sheep porn for you?

These sort of comparisons are pointless. We pretty much owned Hamilton in the head to heads last year including IIRC a 0-3 away win. We have improved dramatically since last season, nine (9) new players started yesterday - all better than the players they replaced. Hamilton have not improved so much. I wouldn't be getting too big a boner about beating the leagues obvious whipping boys - or so it looks at this stage.

That said I expect us to take nothing from this game. The highlands doesn't seem a happy hunting ground for us.

We'll go into this with confidence after our win but this game will be significantly different. We struggled at home under Hughes last season, only two league wins at the Caley Stadium after he took over (one of which against a team playing in a cup final the next week). I think that the keep-ball passing style can work well in certain circumstances and yesterday was one of those - taking an early lead against a side who weren't at full strength. We often invite pressure on ourselves due to emphasising possession over pushing up the pitch and that can be exacerbated at home.

I don't really know that much about Dundee but if I were Paul Hartley I'd be looking to push onto us and pressure our midfielders into midstakes, win the ball high up the pitch and break quickly.

However, there are also reasons to be optimistic. As said elsewhere Ryan Christie looks a real player, capable of moving the ball well and creating openings. He looks to have a real football intelligence as well as an eye for goal. Our defence was solid yesterday, the back four are a real unit, top quality. In midfield I thought Greg Tansey was our best player, he dropped deep and dictated the match, a truly excellent performance. Marley Watkins came on and made a storming case to be included in the starting XI, he could've had two or three goals in his cameo. Not sure if we'll update the team following a win but if we do then Watkins has to start.

I made no comparison with Hamilton

That's pretty much how we play. Only difference is our midfield won't actually allow yours much possession so won't need to be forcing too many mistakes.

Never mind all this banter pish what i want to know is your pehs(pie) any good.

Unless the supplier has changed don't you will regret it, seriously they are among the worst pies in the four leagues.

I never understood this since the pies at Clach and at City (when they were at the Northern Meeting Park) were among the best anywhere. Its the only thing County have us in their shadow as well.

We done this all too often on Saturday. One slack pass results in a half chance for the opposition such is the style we seem to have adopted. If Caley are similar, I expect this could be a goalfest!
