clash city rocker
I would suggest that if its not played then it makes an entire mockery of the Ardagh cup and that it becomes a complete laughing stock. Ardagh Cup has been finished since the semis went midweek with a 6.30 ko and the final lost it's Rugby Park/Somerset venue. If it has to be played, then it should be Mon,Wed,Sat,Mon,Wed at least a week earlier than it was this season...there is no need for clubs to have so many freenlies when they have this cup. Ardeer should demand compo from the association if the match is no played.
Big wall 82
Totally agree with all this carry on all that will happen is sponsers will walk away, there should be no reason hurlford can't send a team too manager less ardeer
clash city rocker
So. You don't like the Ardagh, who would've guessed? Many more do like it. Gie it a rest. Your club obviously thought it was worthwhile. Don't care what ma club thinks about it Sgt sir,
Big wall 82
If hurlford are too big for there boots and don't fulfill fixtures boot them out and put meadow thru, that will shake them up but as we know money talks
Meddaheroes1973
Meadow & Hurlford are both already through to the quarter finals, just got to sort out who finishes 1st & 2nd in the section, (Not that it matters as it's only Kilbirnie or Largs lol). The whole situation just stinks though when you hear the outstanding Hurlford game v Ardeer might not take place as it could be irrelevant. theesel1994
Two years ago, Meadow played Irvine Vics on Marymass Friday & Gala Fairydean in the Scottish Cup the following day. That wasn't a competitive fixture though - just a money making friendly as the League Cup section game was played earlier.
Meddaheroes1973
Meadow still fulfilled the fixture as requested. If it had been an Ardagh Cup game it would still have been played. Really don't see the problem with Hurlford playing Sat, Wed, Sat, Mon, Wed, Sat, Mon, Wed in the first fortnight of a new season. I'm not having a go at Hurlford, this is more down to the West Region making more of a mockery of a cup which doesn't have much respect in the first place. fan of the juniors
Remember a fee seasons ago Cumnock having a league fixture postponed because of the Marymass game .
Big wall 82
The Q/f should not be played if hurlford can't finish there section irrelevant or not games should be played what they gonna do play a quarter then go back and play ardeer these smaller clubs need the income rather than the big clubs constantly monopolising the game to suit them, ardeer may be small but the are a super first team now needing money and games against better teams!! Meddaheroes1973
Remember that as well. Could be wrong (probably) but don't think we specifically 'requested' the league fixture be postponed. The Marymass fixture v Irvine Vics has been going continuously since 1921 (barring the 2nd world war years), maybe not always a 'competitive' fixture but it's never held up the progress or integrity of a cup competition. The whole point is that the sectional league cup may progress to the knockout stage without all fixtures being played. Dead rubber or not it turns the competition into a farce. When would the non-competitive Ardeer v Hurlford game take place? As I've previously stated this is not a dig at Hurlford, but on the organisation at the West Region. Nocko
Jeez calm down everyone. NO-ONE had said Hurlford will not fulfil their fixture. Someone suggested if it was a dead rubber they could possibly not play. No decisions have been made so let's not all go on about devauling the competition by not playing a game when it might not happen. It makes sense to play it at a later date imo shop as not to hold up competition.
Big wall 82
In my opinion and that alone these sections should be played to a finish did you see barca last year when they humped Celtic saying were through so playing Celtic is a dead rubber as we have real at the weekend, ps yes hurlford are trying to dingy the fixture just ask cooky
Big wall 82
Here here maybe hurlford need that wee jolt as they think they control the west side of the game, yes a great team they may be but all great teams need sportsmanship and integrity and they have more than enough players (good players at that) to play if they can compete quite easy at senior level then they should just put out trialists and players they don't usually get a game I'm sure it will still be a cricket score
The Old Northerner
It was a couple of seasons ago that a Musselburgh v Haddington League Cup section game was called off due to a freak summer monsoon. The game remained unplayed and it was never spoken about again after that evening
Killiepiyo
as other folk pointed out, who said Hurlford were not playing?? Some folk are to keen to get a boot in given the chance

Jumanji
So whittlets v glenafton and Talbot v maybole will not take place on weds 26th aug because hurlf have not played all there fixtures yet
The'FORD
13th Sept - Kilbirnie v Cumnock 20th Sept - Did Kilbirnie request a fixture? This fixture makes sense as Hurlford were due to play Cumnock on this date but it had to be postponed due to Hurlford goin to Clachnacudden in the Scottish cup that day. The'FORD
If Medda win at Blair Park they will win the section with Hurlford runners up. Surely there would be no need then to play the Ardeer v Hurlford game.
HibeeJibee
It'd be rather amateurish to leave games unplayed. Plus that would mean Ardeer missing out on a home gate. Why the rush?
