As it slowly sinks in

After the anger, frustration, then bounce, and hope returned at the thought of hammering Labour in next year's polls.

The mood now moves to what a fucking missed opportunity last Thursday was.

We could've been at Eurovision in 2016, ya doss c***s!

The thing is, its like us English with the world cup. For the four years leading up to it, we know we have no chance of winning it and the best we can hope for is that we don't disgrace ourselves before the inevitable exit, maybe take one or two old nemesis out first if possible.

Then in the week or so before the tournament begins, the momentum starts to build and we start to get carried along on the tide of excitement and optimism, convincing ourselves that maybe just maybe this is our year, by the time of the first whistle we've got an evens chance of bringing it home. two weeks in and we are back at home, sick as cxxxx looking at who is to blame.

There was never any chance that there was ever going to be a yes vote, it was never, ever going to happen. The polls are not the place to look for a prediction, the bookies are, they are very rarely wrong, a no vote was a massive odds on favourite, even towards the end when the yes campaign seemed to be inching towards victory. You Scots just got too excited, there's nothing wrong with that, it breaks the week up but there's no point in crying about it now and pointing fingers. I say there's nothing wrong with getting excited, apart from if your Andy Murray, when its probably advisable to turn your phone and laptop off when you feel the heckles start to rise, specially if its the early hours of the morning and your sat in Surrey in your kilt, bare chested and face painted, drinking a can of tenants and watching Braveheart on DVD the night before referendum day, best just to keep it zipped mate, and the thing is, if he'd watched it all the way through, he'd see that they get beat in the end then too.
