jock001 Posted October 17, 2014 Share Posted October 17, 2014 Correct, it's tidal up to around Tower Bridge. Area of the estuary known as the Tideway. I.e. the eastern areas of London are geographically speaking on the coast. You wouldn't be able to extend a line more than a few hundred metres from one bank without hitting another though. I just had a wee look on the map to confirm and it looks like you could build an island between clacton on sea and margate which would make parts of your new country's territorial waters what used to be the Thames estuary.
