UKIP

I was thinking about the Welsh scenario. It would be very hard economically for Wales to go it alone. However surely that shows the failure of the Union to act in the best interests of all areas. Surely getting Wales to become more prosperous should be a priority rather than a passing thought.

This is very much the case, the union depends on none of the other three countries prospering or they'd want to leave. Hence McCrone Report.

Also hence the Tories now saying (note they didn't say this during indyref) there should be compensatory measures in place if Scotland benefits from any Smith proposals at the expense of any other part of the UK. God forbid we benefit like, wouldn't want that.

The thing is, only Farage can hold together the two parties that form Ukip: Eurosceptic Tory rebels, and racist white people. There's basically zero overlap between the two except Farage himself. If Carswell gets in they lose the North. If one of the racists get in they'll be back to BNP levels of obscurity by the time of the next European elections.

UKIP do a good job of being right wing enough to get the racist vote without being outwardly racist themselves

You'll never guess what their excuse is for a piss-poor showing:

Steven Stanbury, UKIP''s parliamentary candidate for Forest of Dean tells the Daily Politics that UKIP voters should expect a "more professional approach" from the party "and not the selfish self-indulgent attacks that we are seeing".
He adds UKIPs election strategy proved to be very successful.
He points out UKIP won several council seats on the night of the general election. He adds all the other parties were squeezed by the Scottish National Party (SNP) "fear factor".

The only show in town strikes again.

UKIP party secretary offers his resignation.

Civil war next.

You can thank the SNP for the collapse of UKIP, after all for years in the run up to this election is was all about them. That is until they pesky jocks stole the limelight and hilariously outperformed them.

Reports he's threatening to resign again now. QT could be fun tonight.

He's also too scared to come out of The Ivy and face Micheal Crick, real man of the people. This quote from UKIP's founder sums him up quite nicely, "a barroom bore with little education".

That has finally settled it. Coburn is insane. No one with an ounce of rational thought could come away with a statement like that

I don't think he's insane, I think he's just having fun with his five minute of fame.
