Legend5
Hearing they have folded tonight and all points deducted to teams that won against them. Seemingly down to debts to HMRC
superbigal
James posted on FF Ballingry Rovers Junior Football Club as informed the league that they have folded as of this afternoon. The reason for this is due to the financial position they have been left in. The debt of tens of thousands going back several seasons to HMRC, Fife Council, Utility companies and Cowdenbeath Football Club. It has become unviable for the club to continue. The players, management and committee would like to thank all loyal supporters over the years.

HibeeJibee
Sad to see any club of long-standing fold. How many "tens of thousands" are we talking? Are they a limited company, or is there a chance the committee will be pursued for the debts? e.g do they own their ground.
Sergeant Wilson
Any chance anyone can take it on next year and start "Ballingy United"? It looks to good a park to go to waste.
victor meldrew
Gutted that it's came to this. Sad to see any club folding, but being involved in one that does is pish. Been an indifferent last couple of seasons with some highs and lows but just want to thanks everyone that's been involved in the club over them, especially my managers, Stevie, Lee and Willie. Players are a great bunch of guys and there's a few that will go on and get good moves.

Auld Heid
Always sad to lose any club - but the big spending of a few seasons ago looks to have come back to haunt them.

HTG
What's happening with the points they had? Assume the league will be regularised so that it reflects a situation where they had never been in it.

Burnie_man
Sad to see any club fold, but it underlines the point that "big money" in the Juniors rarely ends well. Clubs need to live within their means.
