from BBC site:

"Ah, now here's an interesting development... BBC Sport understands Rangers will reject Ally McCoist's letter of resignation. Most of the board are in London for the next 48 hours and no talks are planned."

They've just announced due to a fault, London airspace has been shit down.

Can anybody explain the following for a simpleton like myself?

"So either the club pays his salary up in full, comes to a settlement, or keep him in place for the next 12 months"

Surely if Ally Mourinho resigns he loses any right to a pay off?

Depends what it says in the contract he signed without reading.

Modern contracts take any such simplicity and throw it out the window.

However it seems to be that whereas news outlets keep reporting that he has resigned, he hasn't done it with immediate effect - he has handed his notice in, so has 12 months to run on his contract.

Ally clearly wants a payoff, as he knows fine well that the club will have to replace him asap.

1 year notice was his contract so either pay up, settle or keep in place.
