Meadow vs Hurlford GAME ON

What was the crowd on an absolutely vile day? Without any argument it is one of the best games on paper in the west region. So how would todays crowd compare with say a pleasant summer Saturday in June with the Temp around 70f .

Took this game in today and felt Hurlford just about deserved the spoils over the 90mins in what was really terrible conditions. The wind probably spoiled the game to an extent and the first half in particular was a bit of a non-event. The Meadow management must have been gutted to lose a goal from a set piece just on half time. Completely changed the complexion of the game. Second half was more free-flowing, epitomised by the two cracking goals for either side. Sadly for Meadow it was too little to late. Think the difference between the two teams today was that Hurlford looked more dangerous in the final third. Kean and Robertson look a real handful. Meadow on the other hand really struggled in the final third and will probably be disappointed with their lack of attempts on goal.

Big guy Mitchell for Hurlford at centre half was solid and kept Sawyers quiet all day. Was also impressed with Meadow's number 6 and 10 (think it was 10 - the wee guy up front next to Sawyers?). Thought the referee had a very good game as well despite all the criticism he has had in the past. Got just about all the major decisions correct and even though Sawyers played for the penalty it was a foul. Overall a good game played in atrocious conditions. Will be good to see the goals again in the highlights if Killiepiyo managed to get them. Also the Hurlford fan who kept screaming "come on the Ford" as loud as he could should be made to stand round the far side in the rain the next time. There is supporting your team and being an attention seeking clown.

Sorry Eddie wrong button, great post, welldone to both teams park held up great considering conditions. I'm a Hurlford boy but agree with everything you said Meadow are a top team sorry no excuse not knowing their names but 4 at the back and 10 up front for Meadow were outstanding. They did run out of ideas in the last third but I think that was more down to Hurlfords work as a unit, they did their home work and got their rewards. Welldone to both teams in awful conditions.
