sweep
Around six weeks ago I posted regarding the Buffs- Lugar fiasco. I said that I felt that the outcome could result in the demise of Lugar. Those so called experts( the administrators) decided to delete my post under pressure from others. Some said that I was totally out of order. Some called me nasty names. So because a person speaks their mind and speaks about what could turn out to be factual ( The demise of Lugar)they delete an authentic post. Hang you heads in shame administrators. sweep
Lol The lack of people wanting to form a committee seems to be the demise of Lugar The demise of Lugar could come about by the resignation of the secretary who says that ill health is the problem . This could well be the case but I believe that because the Lugar secretary was refused the right to speak at the association meeting led to his resignation

WaffenThinMint
Perhaps the original poster should be allowed to change his name to Sweep Sweep Sweep? Lugar have been in trouble for a while for the old reason of lack of people willing to man the "backline", so your original post may not have gone down very well precisely because plenty (esp. those of a Talbot persuasion) knew how critical their situation was & felt your post was kicking them when they least needed it. There was also a fair bit of bother at that time IIRC with hypersensitive clubs threatening legal action over all manner of scurrilous rumours being posted here from certain jackanapes. Timing, as everything, may have had a bearing. The bottom line is it's sad that events have come to pass, and Lugar Boswell Thistle may be forced to drop into the amateur leagues after nearly seventy years in the Junior ranks, or perhaps worse. As one of the oldest football clubs in Scotland, the idea of them no longer being around isn't a pleasant thought.

Arthur Orton
The demise of Lugar could come about by the resignation of the secretary who says that ill health is the problem . This could well be the case but I believe that because the Lugar secretary was refused the right to speak at the association meeting led to his resignation I think I will believe the original statement that came from Lugar rather than what you seem to believe. The club statement appeared on thejuniors.info on 23rd of March. Incidentally your posts were removed for continually spamming a thread. Glad to see you're not bothered in the slightest about it though. Oh and for the record it was me that was responsible for removing them. Carry on. Here is what appeared from the club... Below is a statement from Kennie Young about the issues currently facing Lugar Boswell. How many other clubs are in the same boat? Are there people out there willing to help Lugar and other clubs who are struggling? “Lugar Boswell Thistle 1878 – 2015?” Well that’s it for me, but there are now serious doubts over the future of Lugar Boswell Thistle. A meeting at Rosebank Park, held to see if anyone was interested in getting involved with the running of the club, produced only 2 offers of assistance. Unfortunately though, that help is limited due to the personal circumstances of those volunteers. I have tendered my resignation following my doctor’s advice and a promise made to my wife and family. Shirley Bradford, the club’s treasurer, is now the interim Secretary until either someone else can be found or till the end of the season. Lugar Boswell Thistle will endeavour to see out the season, but after that, who knows? If no help is forthcoming between now and the end of the season, it is almost certain that Lugar Boswell Thistle will be wound up and will not take out membership of the West Region of the SJFA for season 2015/16. At this moment, I am totally heartbroken over this, but even if I was fit enough to continue, I reckon that without help this would still be the outcome. I sincerely hope that there are people out there that do not want to see the demise of this great club and will step forward very soon before it is too late. I would like to take this chance to apologise to George Grierson and Kevin Deeney for placing them in this position and again I hope people get involved quickly enough to give them assurances that Lugar will continue. It would be a shame if Lugar lost out on their services as along with Gary Russell and George Walker, they would be a massive loss to any team. Despite what some people seem to think of them, I know exactly what type of guys they truly are. None of them have taken a penny for their services but instead they actually put money in to the club and have been working tirelessly building the club and getting them where they are, one of the top 3 clubs in the District League and still in with a chance of promotion, a slight chance maybe following yesterday’s results elsewhere but a chance nonetheless. Their understanding of my situation has been exemplary throughout and they have assured the committee that they will continue with the team management until at least the end of the season. It is also George’s intention to speak to the players at training on Monday to keep them abreast of the situation. WaffenThinMint
I am amazed that someone would admit to being party to the possible demise of Lugar. Shame on you Are you completely out of your tree? Kennie Young said he had to resign after taking advice from his doctor. What was he supposed to do, carry on until the stress of it caused him to have a more pressing health issue like a heart attack? The guy isn't put into a box and plugged into the mains to recharge after weekly Lugar duties, he's got a real life which comes first - including a family also getting stressed by watching their spouse/father clearly suffering rather than enjoying his pastime. Football is just a hobby. When it stops being fun, that's the time to cut down the level of involvement.
