akuram
He's shite by all accounts. Happy to take the word of the St Johnstone fans on the subject now.He was unlucky in that he was rushed into the side due to injuries and us being rubbish at the time.

Strapp with license to push on, the other three shuffling across. Whether that's good enough remains to be seen. An actual right-back would be very welcome, but more than that, we need a first-choice keeper. We have a first choice keeper, whether he's any good or not is anyone's guess though. -

We have an only-choice keeper, who has never played regularly at anything like this level. If we don’t get another one, we’re very likely in a lot of trouble. Gambling on McAdams to play every week would be absurd, given the money that’s been spent on contracts for guys in other positions who’ll barely get a kick.
vikingTON
McAdams has quite clearly been brought to the club as a first choice, if you think that we're adding anything other than a benchwarming ringer then you're deluded. -

No idea what you’re basing that on, tbh. If it does turn out to be the case, it’s Hopkin (or ‘Timmo’) who’s deluded, not me...

When we signed and started playing McCrorie: We have a keeper who has never played regularly at anything like this level... They had been tracking McAdams for a while. He has been with us for weeks. We are approaching the first game and he is our keeper. They clearly see him as number 1, for now at least. If it doesn't work out based on the cup games, they are likely to go to the loan market (we can still make loan signings until the end of October, later in a keeper emergency). I don't doubt there will be a ringer sat on the bench, even a kid, for the very marginal possibility that McAdams goes off injured but they are not at this stage likely to sign a new first choice goal keeper like you are asking for.

Stevie Aitken's Love Child
Definitely has a bit more pedigree about him than McAdams. I wonder if Timmons coached him at Blackpool or if he had left by the time he signed? Whilst all of that is true, your existing keeper turning out to not be very good doesn't constitute the sort of emergency you can get a loan keeper outside the window for. It needs a medical certificate of inability to play so short of a 'Tony Lewis' Escape to Victory incident that wouldn't solve the problem.

Mafoumbi joined Blackpool in July 2017, Timmins was there from July 2016 until he joined us in June 2019 (bar a couple of months where he left to be a failed manager in Sweden). So yes, likely to be a Timmins recommendation.

Yeah, figured we would make that decision after a few cup games, much like we did with Ramsbottom last year.
The Ghost of B A R P
I’m deeply invested in this being a McAlister, as opposed to a Timmins recommendation, tbh...

The Ghost of B A R P
Just had a look at our squad as it stands... 16 players for 6 middle-to-front slots, 5 players for a back four... absolutely mental. Even if he goes with a back 3/5 and you shuffle Salkeld and McAlister into that group, it's 14 players for 5 middle-to-front, and 7 into 5 at the back. Beyond that imbalance, we already have a bigger squad than in the last two seasons (if you discount youth on the fringe), going into a completely unpredictable year from a financial point of view. He must be trying to scunner two or three into going elsewhere, surely? I quite like Hopkin, but you're bound to say that Duffy or Johansson would be getting slaughtered in similar circumstances.
