victor meldrew
Surprised no one has posted anything on here, but after hearing that Jock Finlayson has decided to retire from management think it's only right that he gets all the plaudits he deserves. Think his reign was 40 years as Haws gaffer, something which is unlikely to be done again in the near future. Fantastic loyalty by both him and the club. Think he's staying on at the club on the committee though. Enjoy retirement Jock, huge loss to Haws and Junior football as a whole.
macintosh
If that is the case then well done to the man & best wishes for the future, great way to finish landing the East Of Scotland Cup for his club as well.

Font Of Information
If ever somebody epitomised Junior Football it is Jock Finlayson, he will be missed from the dugout although I believe the Fife Referees Association saw a sudden upturn in applicants when his retirement were announced. He wont be missed from Junior Football because he will still be there all be it in a different roll, surely his retirement should be marked by the region in some way

Never knew that Jock was retiring but that's some record being a manager of a club since it was formed 40 years ago, as you say can't see any current day manager doing that. boheesian
Sad day for haws..he doesn't get called legend for nothing....an inspiration to young managers Legend is a much used word and often wrongly. However, in Jocks's case it could never be wrong and wish him well in his retirement. He can now have a go at the Refs without fear of a ban or a fine. Fear no foe
Some achievement at any level, well done to the guy. Eould imagine be a hard act to follow. That said though not many managers from his era still kicking about, management turning into a young mans game these days
