It could be a long road back for them - they've been shockingly bad any time I've seen them this season and I wouldn't put it past their current squad to struggle badly in Bundesliga 2. I've said it before in this thread but with the club also being a complete mess off the field I can see them doing an 1860 München or Kaiserslautern. On the subject of players I wonder if Hunterlaar will decided to hang up his boots or not. Edited April 23, 2021 by GNU_Linux
Sherrif John Bunnell
I was just looking at Kaiserslautern's wiki assuming that they were still stuck in 2 Bundesliga purgatory. They are now in the 3 Liga relegation zone along with fellow former Bundesliga regulars Uerdingen and Unterhaching.
GNU_Linux
In the most unsurprising move in anything ever Julien Nagelsmann is taking over Bayern Munich for next season on a five year deal.

German Jag
H96 to part company with trainer Kenan Kocac at the end of the season. Writing on the wall for a while with the run of piss poor results. SC Paderborn trainer, Steffen Baumgart, currently the main rumour as succesor. Pressure building up on Hamburg once again. Even if Hamburg defeat Karlsruher tomorrow, Fürth's win tonight against Sandhausen keeps them 3 points in front with just 3 games to play. Kiel with 2 games in hand (Covid related) could make it all immaterial if they were to win those, and punt Hamburg out of the play-off spot. With Schalke and a possible 2 from 4 of Bremen, Bielefeld, Köln & Hertha coming down, then getting out of BL2 next season is going to be a nightmare.
Brummie Clyde
Better still, hopefully beautiful KSC will beat them.Did look at the table last night and think they are underdogs to finish in the top 3 now.

Brummie Clyde
Is that 4 years in the second tier for Hamburg now? [emoji792]

They've taken a step back this year. The past two seasons they finished 4th, 1 point from the playoffs in both of them. This year they're not even that close. Get it right up the Rangers-sympathiser c***s.
Brummie Clyde
Quite a good season for Karlsruhe too, after losing our first 3-4 games.Beat quite a few of the top teams, including our last match against Holstein Kiel. Think we beat them after they knocked Bayern out of the Pokal too.

GNU_Linux
Brings an end to Bremen's 40 year tenure in the top flight. FC Köln take the relegation playoff. At the other end of the table Rassballen, Dortmund & Wolfsburg take the Champions League places. Frankfurt & Leverkusen the Europa spots & plucky wee Union the Conference spot. Will be Union's second ever outing in Europe with their only prior being the 01-02 UEFA Cup. Down in the 2.Bundesliga Bochum return to the top flight after just over a decade away & Holstein Kiel come up for the first ever time in the Bundesliga era. Greuther Fürth take the playoff spot. Hamburg to the amusement of everyone remain in purgatory. Würzburger Kickers are the only team down thus far. Going into tomorrow's last match day Eintracht Braunschweig occupy the other relegation spot & VfL Osnabrück the playoff spot. Both teams can saves themselves entirely while SV Sandhausen can be dragged into either & Jahn Regensburg at worst the playoff spot. The 3.Liga is done & dusted with Dynamo Dresden & Hansa Rostock going up automatically & Ingolstadt the playoff spot. I'm sure games between St. Pauli & Rostock will be completely incident free. Going the other way to regional football are Unterhaching, Lübeck, Bayern München II & Meppen. Replacing these four will be Nordost winners Viktoria 1889 Berlin, West winners Rot-Weiss Essen, & Südwest winners Freiburg II. The last spot will be determined by a playoff between Nord club TSV Havelse & the winner of the 3 team Bayern championship playoff ongoing between FC Schweinfurt, SpVgg Bayreuth & Viktoria Aschaffenburg . TSV Havelse actually came third but the two clubs above them in the Nord Werder Bremen II & Weiche Flensburg opted not to apply for a 3.Liga license.
