Sky's efforts have been lame at best and hardly ever have the Friday night games on live, presumably as they don't want to put it up against their English Championship coverage. The only reason that game was shown live last night was because of the FA Cup this weekend. Makes you wonder why they bought the German football in the first place. It moving to Sky has been a poor move for the punters. That they're only showing a game this afternoon on their app - on a weekend when they are deprived of their Super Sunday pish or even the Scottish football to cover across their roughly 182 sports channels - sums it up.
Accies1
This doesn't get said enough. I fucking despise Sky's coverage of the Bundesliga.

Accies1
VAR has ended up making the right decision but it's nice to see some awful refereeing outside of Scotland.
Accies1
Pepi showed some nice movement in his first start for Augsburg but other than that failed to really show much. Looked a little lightweight and got bullied at times. Early days still and he must have showed something in training to justify being started.
itzdrk
Unreal scenes in the Pokal. Sankt Pauli kicked Dortmund's c***s in.
Jacksgranda
Watched the Hamburg derby. Thoroughly enjoyed it, even if I did fall asleep for the first 10 minutes of the second half, missing Hamburg's equaliser! Finished 2-1 to Hamburg.

So brutal that this season of all seasons is the one where 2. Bundesliga isn’t being shown anywhere here

German Jag
1/4 final draw for the DFB Pokal was made earlier this evening. H96 get to host RB Leipzig. Not ideal, but at least a home tie. Most teams still in will be fancying their chances of lifting the trophy in Berlin and getting a Europa league spot.
GNU_Linux
Sky not even bothering to show Bayern vs RB on their main channels. Main event & football are currently showing the same Championship game. I have other means of accessing the games but still tinpot pish from Sky.

Neilly
What's the deal over there just now is it still reduced capacity due to covid? Is there much chance of getting over before the end of the season at fully capacity?

Currently all over the shop, varying between 500 & 15000. Next meeting between the Chancellor and the heads of the individual Bundesländer is Wednesday. Hopefully thereafter there‘ll be a better idea as to when & how enabling larger crowds will be implemented.
Steven W
Bournemouth v Nottingham forest postponed tonight. Not holding my breath but I wonder if Sky might now elevate tonight's match to be on TV?
German Jag
Last week‘s storms caused chaos with the trains in Germany & scuppered the planned trip to Hamburg for the St. Pauli game which H96 won comfortably. A driech Friday night in Hannover with Holstein Kiel as guest. A paltry 9200 there, though with personalisation of tickets being done away with, a good few of the ultras/young team were there bringing a noticeable improvement in atmosphere. An uneventful 1st half. 2nd half H96 moved up a gear and ran out comfortable 2-0 winners. Next up DFB Pokal quarter final on Wednesday night against RB Leipzig, then on Saturday a long day out away to Sandhausen.
German Jag
Hannover 96 have only ever won the DFB Pokal once, back in 1992 when they were in the BL2 North, defeating 5 BL teams in the process. Hero of the penalty shoot-outs in both the semi-final (against Werder Bremen) and the final (against Borussia Mönchengladbach) was Jörg “Colt” Sievers. Sievers was Daniel Stendel’s co-trainer during Stendel’s stint at Hearts back in 2020. That cup win got them back into Europe for the 1st time since the 60s where they had played various times in the old Fairs Cup. The resulting “glamour” European tie ended up being against ECWC holder Werder Bremen, a massive 70 minutes train ride away. Wednesday’s quarter-final opponents RB Leipzig were the most difficult opponent possible of the teams still in this year’s competition (Bayern & Dortmund already out). A “sold-out” Niedersachsen Stadion (currently 25.000 allowed under Corona restrictions). Capacity restrictions due to be removed for the next home game against Nurnberg. Unfortunately, the team never really got going with it ending up a bit of a men against boys scenario, going down 4-0. Result basically ends H96‘s season, a couple of wins from the remaining 10 games should ensure mid-table safety.
Accies1
Once again, f**k Sky and their Bundesliga coverage. Regardless, a massive 3 points for Augsburg tonight.
German Jag
Draw for the DFB-Pokal was made the other night. Hamburg host SC Freiburg RB Leipzig host Union Berlin Of the 4, only 2nd league Hamburg have won it before. Ties to be played during the week after Easter.
German Jag
A long day out down in Sandhausen (just south of Heidelberg). Just over 200 H96 fans saw them lose 3-1 continuing the club‘s inability to properly get away from the relegation play-off spot. Off to the worst possible start, with Sandhausen scoring directly from a penalty. Some shocking „goalkeeping“ from Ron-Robert Zieler. Things went from bad to worse with Marcel Franke deflecting into his own goal. H96 got one back promptly and were probably the better team, but no goals and 10 minutes from time Sandhausen secured the win. Next up home to Nuremberg on Sunday.
