Karpaty
Imagine if the keeper saved it, it rebounds back to the striker and he puts it in the net? Goal or not? The half is over, would imagine he would have to had disallowed it. Edited April 16, 2018 by Karpaty

No goal, basically you only get one shot at it (even if the whole VAR thing hadn't happened). - Law 14.1: Additional time is allowed for a penalty kick to be taken and completed at the end of each half of the match or extra time. When additional time is allowed, the penalty kick is completed when, after the kick has been taken, the ball stops moving, goes out of play, is played by any player (including the kicker) other than the defending goalkeeper, or the referee stops play for an offence by the kicker or the kicker’s team. If a defending team player (including the goalkeeper) commits an offence and the penalty is missed/saved, the penalty is retaken. Jonathan Pearce clueless as ever when it come to technology - talks about a restart, surely that would be the start of the second half?

They didn’t go to VAR, however no one knows what the ref was told from the booth.
Brummie Clyde
My cousin suggested we go to a German match or two next season. He supports Kaiserslautern and I like Karlsruhe. Would probably fly via London, as it’s much cheaper than Birmingham and he lives there. Half thinking about going to Strasbourg as it looks nice and is only 40 minutes on the train from Karlsruhe. You don’t seem to be able to fly direct to Kaiserslautern, Frankfurt is the closest option. Think you can fly direct up Karlsruhe and Strasbourg though. Anyone have experience of matches in Germany. Is it easy getting match tickets. Also, is there a train pass you can get which would go across the border from Germany and France?

Karlsruhe/Baden-baden airport has Ryanair flights from Stanstead as well as Edinburgh. Also the option of flying to Stuttgart. Easyjet from Gatwick & Edinburgh. Eurowings from Heathrow, Flybe from Birmingham & Ryanair from Manchester, As well as the proper Frankfurt airport with numerous UK connections there‘s also Ryanair ‚Frankfurt‘-Hahn with some UK flughts although travel to from there is supposed to be a pain. As regards trains check the Bahn international site. Getting cross-border trains is relatively easy. Not sure about any passes. As regards match tickets, despite the local rivalry, if they‘re meeting next year will mean 3. Liga and will be easy to get. Stadium in Kaiserslautern is just under 50.000, in Karlsruhe ca. 29.000.
German Jag
An even 1st half on Saturday with 0-0 being the correct score. Introduction of Müller & Lewandowski, both of whom scored just after coming on killed the game as a contest. Rudy got the 3rd with a minute to go. Mext up an overnighter. Down to Hoffenheim on Friday afternoon staying over in Heidelberg.

Stellaboz
That's one hell of a drop in stature for them. What happened?Today I'm off to Victoria Köln v Wattenscheid in a League 2 equivalent fixture. Can't wait!
Stellaboz
Great game yesterday. Game finished 8-3 to Victoria but we left at 6 to try get back watch our own matchesmOnly around 20 or 30 Wattenscheid fans and not a big fan culture at Victoria but incredible game where almost everything went in.Got to stand literally at pitch side as my friend was in a wheelchair, nothing beats going to a game.Victoria need to finish top ( currently 2nd) to reach the promotion play off into the 3rd league.
German Jag
Another game day, another loss for H96.Early finish at work on Friday, then train to Heidelberg and onwards to Sinsheim. Some Keystone Cop defending (Sané) for Hoffenheim‘s 1st, although keeper Tschauner coold have done better as well. After conceding H96 managed to play a bit with Karaman getting the equaliser 8 minutes later. A well struck 2nd (by subsequent hat-trick scorer Kramaric), followed by Tschauner getting caught out in no-mans land gave the hosts a deserved 3-1 win.Next up, Hertha Berlin which is the final home game of the season.
German Jag
Last home game of the season saw H96 ensure their BL1 status for next season with a convincing 3-1 win at home to Hertha Berlin.Beautiful sunny day, with Martin Harnik getting the home team off to a flyer, scoring in the 4th minute. A double dunt from Salif Sané & Niklas Füllkrug just before half-time, and although Davie Selke got one back in midway through the 2nd half, result was never in doubt.Being the final home game was also a farewell to Schalke bound Sané as well as Wolfsburg bound Felix Klaus.
German Jag
Following on from the post above, will be interesting to see how Sané gets on at Schalke. His main reason for leaving (apart from more money) was a desire to play in the Champions League. Despite being prone to the occasional brain-fart, always liked him as a player. Even got to see him playing in the 4th tier following his fallout with Tayfun Korkut, who stuck him in the 'Amateure' for 6 months. Will be most remembered for this:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2A02iL1LRU As regards Felix Klaus, also a player I admired. With Wolfsburg's current predicament (either play-off or direct relegation) then with the move to Wolfsburg may end up with a bit of egg on his face, though doubt he or his bank manager will be giving a fück. Waspy
Hertha desperately need a goal scorer. A change in mindset from Pál as well wouldn't go a miss.
German Jag
Holstein Kiel, guaranteed 3rd and the corresponding play-off spot against either SV Hamburg or VfL Wolfsburg (or even 1FC Freiburg), had their stadium licence application for their potential promotion to Bundesliga1 rejected by the DFL this afternoon. Current capacity is +/- 10.000, DFL saying has to be 15.000 with minimum 8.000 seats. (Was in Darmstadt for the opening game of the season in 2015/16 and despite there being 17.000 there, was max 5.500 seats). Options for Kiel should they be promoted are, 34 away games, Hamburg have already said gtf, other option would be St. Pauli who would likely say yes. As regards the arse end of the Bundesliga, Hamburg need to win and for Wolfsburg to lose in order to get the play-off spot. A win for Hamburg & draw for Wolfsburg would put them on equal points but Wolfsburg at present have +10 GD advantage. Freiburg play Augsburg, a loss for Freiburg (GD -26) combined with a win for Wolfsburg (GD -15) would see Wolfsburg safe, and Freiburg in the play-off.
