The Death of 'Superman Lives'

There was going to be a Superman film in 1998 called ‘Superman Lives’. Superman/Clark Kent was to be played by Nicholas Cage and it was to be directed by Tim Burton. There’s a documentary coming out to explain what the film would have been about and why it never happened, as well as reactions to it.

Braniac, Lex Luthor and Doomsday would have been the bad c***s. Superman would have been depressed and would have fought giant spiders. He actually was to die in the film, only to be revived by a sort of robot thing that would have become his suit, mimicking his powers.

It would have been astonishingly, life changingly bad.

But it would have been utterly glorious to see. Cage’s Wicker Man would have been nothing compared to this. Such a shame it never happened.

That has to be some kind of joke. Space dogs, gay robots, fighting polar bears.

I thought so too, but listen to the Kevin Smith link above (the second one). It's actually pretty funny the shit they wanted in the film.
