Cumbernauld Utd Next Season

Not heard much from our landlords. Excellent season last season but only heard of players leaving, Boyle, Murphy, Fraser, Zok, MacKie, Carroll, HaXton, Steele,Brown all away that's the bulk of there starting line up and no new signings at all announced and we are already into the second week in July.

Hope they get it sorted and can at least consolidate this season, can't see them featuring at the top of the league losing all those players, though i could be wrong!

What date is that article ? The last line refers to a supposed friendly Hurlford v Glencairn taking place on Saturday at Toryglen. That match was played on 18th July, but Kris Irvine was still training with Glencairn after that date before he signed for Cumbernauld.

Well it says online published 4 hours ago and mentions Phil Dolan signing for Hurlford which is a recently announced signing.

Not ideal pre season for them losing so many players, struggling to get pre season games arranged.

Doesn't mean to say they won't do well this coming season.

So it must be today's article, or yesterday's.

Bizarre, as we're not playing Hurlford at Toryglen this Saturday. Perhaps that's a bit of a previous article that they have forgotten to delete or something. I know Jim O'Donnell gets frustrated at the way a lot of his articles are edited and it makes him look silly at times, when really he didn't actually write what is published.

Over and above the players mentioned who have left we also lost Blair Malcomn to Ross County who would have made a big impact for us this year. From last year we retained 8 players and have signed another five with more to follow. We had a very encouraging performance at Lanark last week and we are off to sunny Saltcoats this Saturday then Clyde 20's on Tuesday at Broadwood(Outside Pitch).New coaching staff have brought a freshness to our training and we have been busy (as we do) getting our stadium ready for next week.Yes it was disappointing to lose so many quality players but you deal with it and move on which is exactly what we have done.Looking forward to the new season who knows what it will bring.

Thanks for that. Looking at it you kept 8 and 8 left from last season?

Think Cumbernauld will do alright, will be difficult for them to better last season though.

Cumbernauld will be fine next season george and john always do well in attracting good players to the club. Its not ideal losing 8 of your starting 11 but thats football. John is a good guy and i have no doubt he will bring in some quality.

Recorded our third consecutive 4-1 pre season victory against Clyde 20's last night, some nice football from a very young United side and the squad is now up to 17.Looking forward to Saturday when the 'Pace' visit and then Wednesday when we travel to take on the 'Roy' at Guy's Meadow(Lol).Big test ahead for the lads but hoping we can put together some decent performances in the defence of the trophy we won last year.

Good result again today.....couple of good additions but still need a couple of experienced heads!! Think the right back is very good and couple more! Will do well if they add 4/5
