Romeo
As far as I am concerned this is a brilliant idea meaning that normal non addicts don't have to run the gauntlet of smelly, selfish, unsociable tinks, slowly killing themselves and others in the doorways of pubs ,clubs and restaurants. http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/uk/smoking-ban-should-be-extended-outdoors-31448428.html

DA Baracus
Every single time a smoker throws away a cigarette butt, they should be beaten severely then made to pick it up with their mouth. But seriously, why do smokers think it's acceptable to just chuck them away? And to get on topic, good idea. Most bars and clubs have a smoking area and it's not the doorway. milton75
Horrible idea. They'll need to ban cars first I didn't know that there was an order these things had to be done in. Can you expand on this and advise what order everything else is more or less bannable on?

I believe he's making a joke about a popular P&B trope that is trotted out every time the topic of smoking arises.

bhoy who invented weetabix
I fully supported the smoking ban in public places, but its getting way OTT now, we are after all talking about banning people smoking OUTSIDE here......in the open air! Apart from outside hospitals and medical centres this is not neccesary and way too far

P45
I'm all for it. Smoking is another tax on the poor. They should be doing as much as possible to phase it out.
welshbairn
It would be a lot simpler if they'd just introduced smoking and non-smoking pubs, then there would be place for all the boring non smoking friendless nerds to waft around their smugness, and exchange thoughts on what horrible ways they'll die if not from smoking related diseases. All for it. Sooner the smoking addicts kill themselves off the better. The smell of smokers too... Fucking hell, who would want to smell like that. At least on the non smoking pubs you wouldn't have to look at the stinking brown teeth indicative of your average addict.
itzdrk
So if you cant smoke inside and you can't smoke outside, where can you smoke? To put it another way, what if the headline read: Alcohol ban 'should be extended indoors'
