  1. Probably that the SPFL and SFA don't talk to each other much and neither give a hoot about the Highland League. I'd imagine the conversation on Thursday went something like "What, you mean they never even put their application in before the deadline? How could they not know? Well there's no way we can let them into the the playoff, East Kilbride or Club 42 could sue us and it will be a real mess. Who's going to tell them?"
  2. After all my whining about your lack of coverage of lower tier issues like the conference farce etc, spot on with the breaking Buckie Thistle news, it would have been easy to get the wrong take. Arild Stavrum was a top legend choice too.
  3. @Sherrif John Bunnell is the man I feel sorry for at this news. Come to Clach!
  4. Don't worry, Cowdenbeath will get Buckie's League Cup spot.
  5. The March 31st deadline wasn't only about licensing, it was other stuff too, Buckie couldn't have been unaware of it, the SPFL even put in bold as well as underlining it.
  6. Qualifying for the playoffs is a different issue from going for a bronze licence. By not submitting their application by March 31st, a crystal clear rule that they'd been warned out about multiple times by the SPFL, SFA and the Highland League, they forfeited the right to take part in the play offs. Why it's only just come out is the mystery, sounds like the various officials they talked to in the SFA and SPFL didn't talk to each other.
  7. The playoffs were ruled out for them when they didn't get their application in for March 31st. The rest is just different officials from the SFA and SPFL talking to Buckie without checking what's going on between them.
  8. There's another section but I agree that it doesn't look too onerous.
  9. Sounds to me like Buckie were saying one thing to the SPFL, another to the SFA and yet another to the HL.
  10. For those who haven't seen the relevant statements: P.S. And this:
  11. You don't actually need a Doctor at every game, a medically qualified person like a paramedic or nurse will do, but you need a doctor signed up and in the background.
  12. Unaccustomed to siding with the SFA, but I suspect they're the innocent party in this. Buckie never wanted promotion but didn't want to admit it out loud because of pyramid rules they've signed up to, so they procrastinated on requesting a "period of grace" until it was too late and are now trying to blame the SFA, following the tradition of Fort William.
  13. Buckie have got exactly what they wanted, winning the league and no promotion.
  14. Buckie don't give a f**k about the Pyramid, the Highland League or Scottish football so long as they can poach players from clubs who do with youth training, and play big baws with zero local players at tier 5.
  15. I've got a daft image of the Broughty players sitting around a Benidorm bar waiting for a phone call when they're probably pushing a kid round Tesco.
  16. Must be weird for Broughty players, checking the scores every few days to see if they're champions and no games to play. Six more Dundee North End matches to go, and they have to win every one.
  17. Who was the last Brechin manager who didn't have you calling for his resignation within weeks?
  18. They lifted the bail restrictions.
  19. There's a bus from nearly outside my door in Inverness that gets me to Kyleakin for opening time, and a bus back early evening. Was considering stopping the night but the B&B/hotel prices are mental, Then Ness or Barra for the next round..
  20. Trump promised he'd get her on The Apprentice, and fix it so she'd get through to the later episodes.
  21. It's a bit odd that he's not allowed to live in the same house as his wife, and his co-accused. I haven't heard of that before in bail conditions.
