parsforlife
C'mon guys i've said to you before about making sure you fill in the forms correctly, that's the third time this month we've been unable to tell the press who we stoned to death. Why are you leaving the 'name of infidel' section blank?
Hillonearth
ISIS business bullshit: "Stakeholder" = getting crucified "Blue sky thinking" = getting flung off a roof "Cutting edge technology" = about to star in a corporate video "Deep dive" = see above
Dee Man
ISIS have to do all the boring admin stuff to keep places like Mosul running with a population of 2.5 million (before Jihadi John got busy). And they have to look after the payroll, keep the IT systems running, trade and smuggle oil etc. They'll need more office jihadis than warriors I'd think. I watched something about them selling off the antiquities from Palmyra and it's a full scale operation. Issuing licenses for antique hunters to go in with their metal detectors and digging equipment and selling stuff off around the globe - "mostly America". The undercover journalist went in and got someone to buy him a gold coin off a suited and booted ISIS member, sold complete with a receipt with the ISIS logo in the corner. They've also got psychologists on their payroll to assess ,erm, employees to see what roles they're best suited for in their organisation. Apparently they pay above the living wage and offer 28 days holidays a year as well as bank holidays.

Hillonearth
The IRA were decentralised with a cell structure. Al Quaedia weren’t even really an organisation as we know it. It was just a collection of individuals and groups with a jihadi mindset across various countries and continents. There was no central command at all and no real unified agenda. Al-Quaedia wasn’t just a convenient name to ascribe to Islamic terrorists as if they were all part of one body- when they weren’t. All the more reason to view the invasion of Afghanistan as nothing more than the global playground bully getting put on his arse after being blindsided, then immediately coming out swinging at the first wee guy who looks at him the wrong way. Carl Cort's Hamstring
How big are the offices, will they have a canteen? Do they advertise locally for admin staff etc? Do they skive? This is the thing that always bothered me about the mad 'take over the World' villains in Bond films. How does their recruitment system operate? Do the jobs go up in the papers? Do you have to kill people that are offered a role and turn it down? What's in the job spec?

It would be utterly inconceivable for any country not to react the way the USA did to 9/11 (at least any country with a military capable of projecting power). A government that was seen to do nothing, or even just methodically assessing the situation would fall in the face of public outrage. Bin Laden really set the perfect trap. By seeming to deliberately invoke NATO article 5 in his speech and promising merciless vengeance, it looks like Hollande and France might be making the same mistake.
