TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs 2015

Three weeks to go until TLC, writing this on the back of a horrific Raw, one of the worst I've witnessed in all honesty. But of course, it has given us our main event for this PPV. The current roster is suffering hugely from the lack of star power. With Seth Rollins, Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton, Cesaro, Daniel Bryan and John Cena (he possibly could be back for this) all away from TV, they haven't got a lot to run with here. Also not a lot of storyline going on right now, could maybe be a case of throwing matches together just for the sake of it, just like they did with Elimination chamber this year. There have been some seeds planted though and I hope I'm not too far off in the Possible Matches section in this post.

Looking back at the event from last year, one match stands out for me: Dolph Ziggler vs Luke Harper in the brilliant Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship. But also when you look back, you see brutally awful match ups such as: Big Show vs Erick Rowan, Ryback vs Kane & Rusev vs Jack Swagger. If WWE can somehow avoid anything like those, I think they'll do okay this time around.

Confirmed Matches:

Becky Lynch vs Sasha Banks (Kickoff Show Match)

Ryback vs Rusev

Alberto Del Rio © vs Jack Swagger in a Chairs Match for the United States Championship

The Dudley Boyz, Tommy Dreamer & Rhyno vs The Wyatt Family in an 8-Man Elimination Tables Match.

Charlotte © (W/ Ric Flair) vs Paige for the Divas Championship.

New Day © vs The Usos vs The Lucha Dragons in a Triple Threat Ladder Match for the WWE Tag Team Championships

Kevin Owens © vs Dean Ambrose for the Intercontinental championship

Sheamus © vs Roman Reigns in a Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

If they don't put the New Day and the Dudleys (along with any other teams they want to involve) in at least a tables match (my preference would be TLC) then they may as well just switch the lights off. Even if they kept it to just the Dudleys and the New Day, you've got the former - tables specialists and one part of the magnificent ladder matches of old - and Kofi Kingston the spot master on the other side. It books itself so easily. Which obviously means they won't do it.

They have a great opportunity to push the women's match up a notch and make it a ladder match, or at least some kind of stipulation. It's clear that most of the women on the roster can work very well, but they're not going to show their potential with just meh ten minute matches (or less as usual). Give Charlotte and Paige a ladder match and you'll get gold. f**k it, go the whole hog and make it a fatal four way ladder match with Banks and Lynch in too. Then put it in the main event, because they're the best you've got right now.

I'm not a hater of Cena, but I'm not a superfan either. It's clear they need to beg him to come back though. Have ADR do a heel challenge, have Cena answer it and win the title back. Or make ADR look strong and dangerous by going back to just kicking people's heads off and breaking their arms. Just do SOMETHING.

I'd be very in favour of putting some kind of gimmick into every match. They seem very averse to using the gimmick they've named the PPV after at times, but they're crowd-pleasing. If the people involved are good enough wrestlers, they'll put on a good, technical show no matter what, so let them add a bit of excitement with tables, ladders and/or chairs.

KO vs Ambrose, also New Day vs Lucha Dragons vs Usos are added to this PPV.

Was interesting to see Tommy Dreamer helping out the Dudley Boyz on Raw, potential PPV match do we think? A massive hardcore match would be a good laugh for the Pre-show perhaps or the PPV opener.

Yeah, that kind of thing annoys me, especially Hell in a Cell. I always thought that kind of match was a one-of-a-kind match that would be brought out every couple of years when it felt as though it was the only thing appropriate to settle a feud. It just doesn't seem like the kind of thing you can have in the PG era (although Brock Lesnar and the Undertaker were superb at the last Hell in a Cell PPV).

Christ...they've actually made a good decision! I still think it's annoying that they haven't got the Dudleys in on it though. A TLC match between the three currently involved and the Dudleys - remember WWE, the guys who kind of made tag-team TLC a thing - would have been amazing. You're not going to get the huge, dangerous spots that you did back then, but with the people involved, you're going to get something brilliant.

Unfortunately, WWE's odd booking will probably mean that with a tag team ladder match, we won't get a women's ladder match. I really, really hope we get both, as I think Charlotte and any other of the women that are in and around the title could really do something amazing with a ladder match. Get the feeling they're saving that kind of thing for some huge 4-way blowout at Wrestlemania though.

The Dudleys vs the Wyatt's will be a tables match and no doubt confirmed tonight. So that just leaves a chairs match to probably get added (I'd rather they didn't, but let's face it, they will).

Quite. Staggering the number of times guys have lost matches which are supposed to be a speciality for them.

I'm not sure if it was ever a specialty, as such. Just something they done from the start with Bubba stuttering apart from "Dvon, get the table"

If anyone is still interested at this point, check out my original post for the updated card. Probably a couple of diddy matches still to add, but the bulk of the feuds they've been working on have their matches lined up already.

On the face of it, might be one of the most underwhelming cards I've ever seen. But it does give chances for some others to shine. If this goes wrong they should just scrap the PPV in the future. I'm really rooting for Jack Swagger, he desperately needs a strong showing here.
