Stujay
With a bit of rain overnight, just wanting to know how the ground is looking at the moment. Do Hurlford have any concerns about the game going ahead tomorrow?

JackD1908
Where have Hurlford/SJFA confirmed this? Seems extremely early even if the weather has been poor.

paul-r-cfc
Hotel that organised the hospitality tomorrow phoned me to say it's off and offer a refund or the same thing next week
PollokLoyal
If Hurlford have any sense, they will re-arrange it to another ground or play both legs at Newlandsfield. Next week at Newlandsfield = £££££
ex-german exile
Ford v Pollok on Sat 10th is OFF. Match referee Craig Napier inspected the pitch this morning and declared it unplayable. I was given this info from the club secretary.

Next week at Newlandsfield = £££££ Sod's law dictates that the Newlandsfield leg will probably clash with celtic and rangers games now, leading to a much reduced gate. Shame

Shame Pretty much. I honestly think we would have had close to 2,000 next week.
PollokLoyal
Pollock could switch the fixture giving hurlford said park to dry out And why would we want to play the 2nd leg away from home?
JackD1908
Really embarrassing that after another relativity okay week that the pitch is unplayable more than 24hrs before kick off. Hurlford need to sort their pitch out. Surely they have to have a back up available for next week be it a good enough local grass pitch, a decent 4g like Largs or Newlandsfield. Makes a mockery of the Scottish cup.
JackD1908
Pollock could switch the fixture giving hurlfords park time to dry out Or Hurlford could play both legs at Newlandsfield? We were given home advantage in the draw no way we are giving that up. How do you expect us to sort out food, hospitality, raffles and programmes etc a day before? ex-german exile
And why would we want to play the 2nd leg away from home? Exactly. IMO Pollok would be crazy to switch.

I.e. there is a council or Scottish water drain outside the ground that not only doesn't take water away but in fact pushes water back into the ground when it is overloaded as it was with the torrential rain yesterday. I honestly don't know what the solution is and fortunately its not my problem to solve a its not going to be easy.

The people of Hurlford and players and committee etc don't pay taxes for nothing.
