Harry Haddock
I feel confident about next season. However this is based on the rumoured new signings actually coming in and Linton,Smith,Marsh and Higgins staying. The likes of Gormley,Bolo,Brisbane, Andrews and Gemmell need never grace Broadwood again. A final word about Brisbane, this boy has skill and pace but unfortunately has absolutely no heart. When I saw him in the pre season friendly at East Kilbride I thought we had gotten ourselves a future star but he just does not have the guts for it.I actually felt sorry for him today and BF should have realised how lost he was and substituted him earlier.
Replays
<p> Wouldn't even take 500/1. I doubt we'll ever get out of this league. It'll be interesting to see who we sign up for next season. Confirmed for next season: Mark McLaughlin (U20 coach) Jon-Paul McGovern (U20 coach) Scott Ferguson (new 2-year deal) (Rumoured) new additions: Jordan Lowdon (left back, Arbroath) Ewan McNeil (right back, Berwick) Phil Johnston (right winger, Stirling) Jordan Kirkpatrick (attacking midfielder, Dumbarton) Matty Flynn (central midfielder, Annan) Would offer new deals to: Mark McMillan (back-up?) Ross Millen Chris Smith Scott Linton Scott McLaughlin (who, incidentally, played really well today) David Marsh Jamie Watson John Gemmell Thank you and goodbye/rumoured leavers: John Gibson Scott Durie Michael Bolochoweckyj (Montrose) Steven Brisbane Brian McQueen Anthony Higgins John Gemmell (Stirling) Not sure: Sean Higgins (struggled for fitness, but a good run of form until the late collapse) David Gormley (works himself into the ground, no stand-out attribute however, not great as a starter) Marvin Andrews (by all accounts a great dressing room presence, but his playing days look over at this level) Billy Robb Conor Lynass Pretty much this. I would keep Gemmell but it sounds like he'll be off to Stirling. Based on the signings we're rumoured to have madec a new CB and a goalscorer would be the priorities for me whilst a new GK certainly wouldn't go amiss, although, that's easier said than done. At this early stage, I would settle for the playoffs again.
bullyweehutch
Talking to a Thistle fan on the way home who said they aren't offering Waters a new deal and he's apparently going to join us next season.
sergie's no1 fan
How did Clyde play today? Only heard the pre match stuff and first 10-15 minutes. I heard Derek Ferguson say Barry sticks to his guns with his all out attacking philosophy, did that happen today? Derek also said Barry told him he was going to go with 2 at the back! Then I read that he blamed the defeat on lack of quality, could it be his tactics? From what I heard on the radio Queens Park came out the traps flying today.
haufdaft
Don't understand any desire to keep Higgins. He has shown very little this season. Gormley flattered to deceive. Puts in a lot of effort but inability to control the ball and hold it up was s real problem along, of course, with his dreadful scoring record. Other than that I agree with the rest of your thoughts.
lichtie36nilhello
I cannot wait for the Clyde fans to get to know the Cowden fans... should be a good read! Enjoy your summer and see you next season.
Fat Sally
The fact that Clyde is in capitals on the thread name is going to annoy me for the entirety of next season.
shawfield shed boy
The biggest problem is any team needs a captain. Spittal won it Marko won it and if fit again this season may have this yr.. We need a leader 1st then a team for next season imo.. Gutted again with jet lag that would kill but will be back!!!... Cannibal
Of those not confirmed I would definitely keep Linton and Smith. Maybe Marsh and Millen too. We have a chance next season if we can bring in a bit of pace somewhere.
