Not usually one to be a bit panicked by signings etc, and trust McCall, but it is worrying that we aren't being linked with anyone, never mind making signings.  We have this so far:

Goalkeepers

Greg Fleming

Lyle Avci (u20)

Defenders

Nicky Devlin

Paddy Boyle

Peter Murphy

Michael Rose

Craig McCracken (u20)

Midfielders

Robbie Crawford
Brian Gilmour
Jamie Adams
Paul Cairney

Ross Docherty

Michael Donald

Mick Wardope (u20)
Craig McGuffie (u20)

Leon Murphy (u20)

Strikers

Alan Forrest

Sean McKenzie (u20)

Ryan Nisbet (u20)

So a starting 11 of:

Fleming

Devlin  Rose  Murphy  Boyle

Docherty  Adams  Cairney

Gilmour                                        Donald

Forrest

Lack of strikers and wingers is what is worrying me.  Donald is ok for back up and we don't really want to be playing Gilly out wide when he is better centrally.

Being completely honest I would have expected more signings by now, as opposed to a back up/player for the future plus Cairney.

Just need to be patient, as boring as it is. McCall wanted a wide player last season and we didn't end up getting one; hopefully that doesn't happen again. Unless Forrest steps up, we need one at least, preferably two.

Personally feel we are still five starting players short (if we play one up front) that a huge amount of players to introduce if we don't get them in before the friendlies begin.

That sounds familiar. McCall did a number of good things for Thistle but in eight transfer windows, he utterly failed in trying to bring in the sort of striker we were crying out for. Perhaps it was more down to good fortune than anything else but within three windows, McNamara had identified our need for a more physical type and brought in Stevie Craig.

We're more or less sorted defensively and central midfield IMO, maybe one more centre half who can play as a full back.  We have Adams, Doc, Cairney, Crawford, Mick and Gilly who can play central midfield.  It just leaves us the wingers and striker short.

Still think we need two centre backs (but this might be unfair on Rose as I'm basing this on the odd opinion on Forfar fans)

Would hope Rose, Murphy, Gilmour, Donald and Forrest are all replaced come the first league game on 6th August.

As Callum says its the fact that we're not even being linked to anyone that worrying, especially with the season starting in only a couple of weeks.

What's the panic. We're still 5 and bit weeks away from the league season. The league cup will treated as the pre season farce that it is by most clubs. McCall tends to go about his business very quietly, so let's keep the heid and have faith.

When McCall first joined he said he had a plan to keep us up, a plan to get us promoted the year after and a plan to consolidate our position in the Championship. Keep the faith.

Did his plan include getting played off the park home and away by Stranraer in the playoffs? Just curious.

Far too soon to panic, but hopefully a decent amount of good news is still to come. I'm pretty relaxed and hopeful that we could see our best finish since Campbell Money's first year in charge.

You didn't actually believe Sutton would sign for Ayr surely? Oh dear.

No one did, however there is always a chance someone nearing the end of their career would like a part time deal to work on something outside of football.

From a brief look, Queens, Morton, Raith, Dunfermline and Dumbarton all require at least one striker. We need two at least. That is the worrying thing, firstly who is even available, secondly there is going to be a queue of teams after every striker.
