Whitburn Vale
Whoosh!!! What a performance from the lions, haven't seen them play like that for a long time, heart, passion, fight and no short measure of skill . A wee wobbly spell start of 2nd half and we had to have Kelly pull off a great save but after buchs came on we never looked back, pleasing performance today

Mind you it was nothing as bad as our first half performance which was as bad as some performances in the first half of last season. Came out a different side in 2nd half. Could have equalised but a great save denied turner. Then the main turning point the penalty. After that it was a case of how many. Expected a defeat beforehand. A few players out and not particularly playing well coming into the match. However to play as badly as that for long spells was worrying. Fair play to livi they really turned up. Their first 2 goals were sublime. Infact the 2nd I thought was the better goal. Wee malkies was good goal for us. Was wondering who the young lad was, Turner looks a really good player, easily your best player today, played as though he was years older than 18, he certainly didn't deserve to be on the end of a 5-1 defeat. Keeps those kinda performances up, he'll move up in the game pretty quickly.
Le shocolate moose
Well done livi you deserved to win by that margin and could of been more . First 2 goals were crackers and your team played well. We were absolutely shocking , 2 central midfielders can't tackle and 2 strikers playing as wingers which just didn't work . Defence super slow and play to many passes across the back line which puts us under more pressure ...not a very good day at the office but surely can't get much worse than that ...well done livi you will be right up there end of season with Alloa ..and unless we improve drastically we will be getting pumped every week. Hamish's Passenger
How did Byrne play? I assume he played well since you romped the match.
Jan Vojáček
I dread to ask given the scoreline and the fact he was hooked after 70 minutes, but how's Nade looking?
Blue1870
He wasnt the worst yesterday. Held off players played people in. However the inept performance of others made everyones performance look poor. Not really had much supply to him this season. Losing andy stirling is proving a big loss so far. His direct style is something we dont have. We are too slow all over the park. A few players back next week and maybe a loan signing might improve things. Although its against a good Alloa side. Byrne was impressive, yep, everyone played well for us yesterday. Biggest surprise was Neill, he was filling in for Halkett being suspended at RB, had a great game. Hope Halkett is back for next week though, Beany is a lot quicker and more mobile than Nade, not sure Neill would cope with Russell's direct play and burst of pace. Ayia Napa Daz
That's the first time Livi have won on the opening league day of the season since 2004.

Anyone can see he's very comfortable on the ball, direct and very rarely gave the ball away yesterday. Should do an excellent job in this league, needs to keep playing well though because with Sunclair, Watt and Knox all sitting on the bench there is a lot of competition for places in the midfield. Did you just make that up to get some mug like me to jump in to correct you? Not even close Ayia Nape, won our opening games in 2006-07 2-0 @ H v QoS, and 2009-10 @ H v Montrose. Then a couple of draws at home the following 2 seasons. After that we played our opening games away, drawing one and losing 3.. Livicub posted our opening day results in the LiviRoom forum going back to 2009-10 when we last won an opening game.
