Eednud
Fourth and final qualifying round overnight and Girth will be pleased that Westfields have made it through to the First Round Proper after a 2-1 home win over level 7 Leiston. The other level 9 side, Bishop Auckland lost 0-2 at Stockport County. No level 8 sides are through but Stamford managed a 1-1 draw at home to National League side Wrexham and Taunton Town who I think almost went bust a few seasons back, drew 0-0 at home to level 6 Hemel Hemsptead Town. There was bit about Westfields on the BBC web site the other day http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/37552873 and another after yesterday's win. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/37667390 ETA: wrong West country T side, it was Truro City notTaunton that almost went bust. Roker Rover
My local side Gateshead dodged a bullet having been 2-0 down at Alfreton (from the division below) with 12 mins left to grab a 2-2 draw. Replay is on Wednesday which gives me the perfect excuse to wear the new retro Gateshead shirt that my daughters bought me for my recent 50th Birthday. Hope the Heed can either get the lowest ranked team at home in tomorrow nights draw or Coventry, Sheffield United, Portsmouth or Charlton Athletic away for a nice payday if they get through. Was just looking at the victories but, you're right, they're good results for the non leaguers.
