This season 9 of the 10 games are on consecutive weeks, from the start of October to the end of November, with the last day on February 1st. No entry on the BUCS website for the British Championship (involving the 12 Premier North & Premier South clubs with the top 2 in each getting byes in R1), but it is normally held on the same dates as the latter rounds of the Trophy [see below]. Northumbria (H) Edinburgh compete in the second-tier Scottish 1A once more - and is now the only ancient university still represented at this level. They play 8 of their 10 games between the start of October and the end of November, with the last pair at the start of February. They and their fellow Scottish clubs join their equivalents from the Northern, Midlands, Western, and South-Eastern 1A levels in the British Trophy (where last seasons finalist and semi-finalist get byes in R1).
