Because they are not in the EU. The UK would be such a country. What was voted for: Member of the EU Not a member of the EU ...? So what was the Brexit we voted for? Apparently Norway is unacceptable but your examples are. You're backing me up with your point.

Norway is not a member of the EU. We have been told that a Norway style deal is not the Brexit we voted for. Yet they are not in the EU. And we voted not to be in the EU. How is that congruous?
DeeTillEhDeh
The confusion over this still now is baffling. Seems fairly clear that it means the same EU status as any other nation who is not currently a member of the EU...? Canada, Brazil, and Fiji, for example. Not EU members. Same shit. Unlike you - it's not that simple. Switzerland - not member of EU - member of Single Market. Norway - not member of EU - member of Single Market. Iceland - - not member of EU - member of EEA. Etc Etc
banana
Do I need to draw a diagram? To be honest, as far as I've been able to gauge, it's generally not Leavers who don't know what voting Leave was for. It;s some Remainers who can't wrap their heads around it.
topcat(The most tip top)
Yes, any of these too, or Zimbabwe or South Korea. But not a member of the EU. Member of the EU Not a member of the EU ...? Zimbabwe is at least a member of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa and a member of the African Free trade zone

banana
Always fascinating to see the 'Progressive' hate rise up when someone challenges The Narrative I'll get that diagram over in due course. Might even do some Powerpoint slides with animations. -

Jeff Venom
I think we are exactly where we should be when we've a political class clinging on to empirical born to rule good times catapulted into top level politics where they succeed in fooling a willfully stupid electorate but not foreign leaders (anymore).Of course it's the Tories telling this story; it's delicious, if not tragic.

The OP
Banana trying to involve himself in a proper discussion then withdrawing to “Progressives” chat when his idiocy becomes all too apparent was a pretty good diversion tbh.
