Suspect Device
It's later than you think. RIP Terry Hall.
tree house tam
Genuinely gutted about Terry. One of only two frontmen, along with Jake Burns, that I've met that are really really great guys, with great chat and stories. Which surprised me with Terry as he comes across as dour as f**k on stage. It probably helps that they fronted possibly my two favourite bands over the years as well. SLF version of 'doesn't make it alright' is better too imo. Edited December 20, 2022 by tree house tam
Richey Edwards
My dad always liked The Specials. I used to hear their songs a lot when I was a kid. It's been a while since I've listened to them, but today I'll play them loud. RIP Terry Hall.
paul wright scores
I always liked The Specials and managed to see them on their 2009 tour in Glasgow. Great band live and brilliant vocals from Terry Hall

The Too Much , Too Young EP was a staple , especially Longshot kick the bucket. RIP Terry.

I loved the original too, have to say my singing along got probably 90% of the lyrics wrong when I finally saw them written.

I remember back late 70s early 80s I was a punk in Glasgow and really let the music papers especially Sounds influence me. They were so critical of the LA punk scene so I paid no attention and back then hearing anything was tough anyway. Years later I lived in San Diego and started to realize what I had missed. Some great music although the concert going scene seemed dominated by bullies and random violence.
