For me, not just the best punk band, but the best band from the second half of the 70's bar none.

Paul Kersey
Scratch RIP I saw him at the rooms 18 years ago. One of the best gigs that I've been to.
BigDoddyKane
Just read Lee Perry had passed on. Some man he was. A legend right enough "This is a great tune from Mikey Dread, The riddim is from Lee Perry!" RIP

Ric
Not just seen the man live, several times, but actually met him too. Fair play for making 85 considering some of his 'lifestyle choices'.

Not just the choices, the amount of Jamaicans killed in random violence is shocking with many reggae big names dying young.
Ric
So I was trying to think of where it was that I met him, and I've narrowed it down to the early 2000s which means Aberdeen which in turn meant the Lemon Tree. I went checking for the date, and found this... * sad beep *

Reggae in its original form is one thing, but Sleng Teng by Wayne Smith broke the mould IMO. It sounds like absolute filth that led to modern sound. Whether it’s my fav reggae album ever I’m not sure, but it can’t be discounted.
BigDoddyKane
I remember the first time I heard this on Channel 4, in the late 90s back when the Mobo awards were good. Puff daddy was over getting some honorary award and clearly thought he was the biggest star there. Puff had done his bit and got award and got a decent reception but then Beenie Man came on later and played this and the place just erupted

As a young lad I was blown away.
