Guy liked NMS I tried the open beta of Wildlands and found it pretty tedious (although I didn't give it much time to be fair). Although it shares the same core structure, it's by far a different game. It is an Ubisoft "choose the way you attack" game as you put it, but everything else around it makes that less of a chore.
