My mate noticed that you almost had 1-11 playing on Saturday bar number 14, I can't confirm if this was correct as I thot it was a bit of an anorak statement.

Would the 1-11 be the queens previous managements preferred 11 or was this just by chance ?

We had 1-11 except for no. 10 Dale Hilson who is long term injured. Kyle Jacobs no. 14 was the other one who played.

Its not really the preferred 11, just a reflection mostly on seniority within the squad plus an element of needs must among the team selection. There are three centre halves in the first eleven numbers but they all played. Lyndon Dykes has started most games for us this season wearing 25 but was out injured on Saturday. If he had been fit then likely Lyle who wasnt properly fit wouldnt have. Jacobs has been a pretty much automatic pick when fit this season despite his number. If Hilson had been fit he would likely have played but it wouldnt have been Jacobs who didnt. More likely Millar or one of the centre halves with Hamill going to full back.

A truly remarkable construction of a wall for the free-kick.  Quite how it could have looked capable of doing its job to anyone involved, I've no idea.

This explains a lot; from the West side couldn't see the set up, so was amazed we actually scored from a free kick, given how utterly inept we usually are at this  (Mark Millar gloriously excepted), and doubly amazed given it was taken by Hyppolite, who was rank rotten all game.(And most of the week before).

A point gained by us, that's for sure.

aye, very good; but that's the thing - he has played really, really poorly/been uninvolved/looked uncommitted for 165 out of the last 180 mins. And unfortunately it applies generally over the season. If he could put in a decent level of effort/commitment/involvement over a whole 90, like Baird, or Leahy to name a couple, maybe we would be a bit better off in the league.

You'll 'take' his level of performance over the last fortnight?  Really? He's got talent no doubt, but apparently a shocking sense of application.

The last 2 home games he's scored 3 and set up 1 from our 5 goals and generally been our biggest attacking threat in both games. What more are you expecting?

He could've knocked in a hat-trick last week and there still would be fans criticising him and wanting him dropped this week.

He's still a young player and playing at this level is obviously not going to be the complete footballer. Obviously if he was more consistent he would be at a higher level but I think he's improved a lot since we signed him and yes there will be moments in games/probably even full games where he won't do much or nothing will come off for him but he's worth having in the team for the times when it does click as he brings something nobody else in the team does. His pace, ability to beat a man and his final ball are all huge assets as is his long throw which we should be making more of imo.

In the league so far this season Hippolyte has scored more goals and has more assists than Baird despite playing 295 less minutes. Not bad for an uninterested and effortless player.
