Karpaty
Josef Martinez staying with Atlanta, signed a five year contract. Must have been De Boer’s priority, as it should have been. Good news.
GNU_Linux
Bit late to the party but the NPSL has setup its own professional league. Football outside the MLS has undergone massive restructuring with the USL adding a 2nd division + the PDL re-branding as USL League Three, NASL being effectivley dead & the CPL emerging.http://www.npsl.com/news/9317

GNU_Linux
Saw the Canadian Championship is getting expanded from 6 to 13 with all teams of the new Canadian Premier League being added. Previously it was the three MLS clubs, Ottawa & the winners of the League1 Ontario + winner of Premiere Ligue Quebec.

I think he was the one that brought the trophy to the local strip club (look it up, there's a video).

Not a worry for Toronto FC after losing to Panamanian giants Independiente FC. Lost 4-0 away on a plastic pitch that makes Killie's look like a bowling green, the drawing 1-1 the week after at home on a pitch that looked surprising well maintained considering there was 15cm of snow on Tuesday and it was -12c. After losing Giovinco, Toronto's newest designated player will be former Swansea and current Genk player Alejandro Pozuelo, I'm guessing Toronto will be shite this season, but tickets will still cost $50 plus. CPL wise, York 9 FC kick off their season at the end of April, their (awful) name is meant to represent the 9 municipalities that make up York Region, the area north of the city of Toronto. They plan to build their own 15,000 capacity stadium in that region at some point but will start out planning at York University's stadium, which is in the former city of York, now part of the City of Toronto. One of their signings is former Rangers (2012 edition) player Luca Gasparotto who also played for Stirling, Airdrie, Falkirk and Morton
Arbroathlegend36-0
Sebastian Giovinco is a huge loss for Toronto. Looking at tomorrow’s fixtures I’ll try and take in 6 matches if I can keep my eyes open with starting work early tomorrow. Just need to figure out what match to watch at 2130 and 2300.
Torpar
A lot of fans were unhappy at Giovinco not being given the deal he wanted, I think Toronto FC being owned by the Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment group is far from ideal, considering they run every major sports team in the city bar the Blue Jays. I did laugh a little at Toronto fans being up in arms and saying they are done with the 13 year old club, like they were giving up their Man Utd season tickets or something

Its been planned that way. They figured they were not going to need that much capacity (even with curtaining off the upper tier). They still get the priority over anything else aside from Falcons.

GNU_Linux
Is that the Columbus move or are Columbus staying where they are now? Staying put. The group that wanted to move the Crew (Precourt Sports Ventures) have sold the club to the Haslam family & a long time club physician. Precourt are involved with the new Austin side.
