The Aberdeen Mega-Hyper New Stadium Thread

He wouldn’t be the only one. There’s one on here who lives four miles west of the stadium, in the countryside, who posts on here that walking to and from the stadium wouldn’t be a problem ,in all weathers on unlit roads! Then a couple of days later posts that Kingsford is nowhere near Westhill (it’s the width of a field away!)

What exactly is your issue with walking on country roads ye big fanny? Why is it unwalkable, genuinely?

Give us a couple of links to these forum threads please. I only really go to afc-chat to see Aberdeen implosions and I don't see any stadium thread on there.

Most that I know, now they’ve had a chance to think about what’s going on, don’t.

More rubbish from not-a-Dons-fan with an agenda.

For the non-Dons fans on here like the Cowden loon, here's a succinct summation:

Hi All,

By this time next month we’ll know (hopefully) the fate of the AFC Kingsford application. For those sitting on the fence/undecided or against them relocating to Kingsford area or relocating at all, bear the following in mind.

Everybody moves house at some point, the reasons behind the decision are endless and particular, sometimes collective. Number of children outgrow the garden, maintaining the house may cost too much now, an extension to the property is either too costly or not possible at all....just a few reasons for moving on. The new house would, I imagine be within 3-20 miles from the old one?

In doing so we leave behind some fantastic memories and many “firsts” and “lasts” that all happened when we were in the old house. Moving allows the opportunity to provide our kids with a positive new outlook and the chance to continue to improve our lives and existence.

Once in the new house there are a number of factors that change. Travel to and from work (normally 5 of 7 days a week), a new local, new shops, restaurants and general amenities. Most importantly for us who like a day out and some socialising with our friends on the drink, finding an alternative means of getting there and back to that which we became used to?

The kids have to adapt too. A new school, new friends, new surroundings and generally not having the home comforts they were used to. All this because we the parents decided it was a better place for our family to live and move forward with our lives and start making new memories whilst fondly remembering our past.

Between Westhill & Kingswells there are numerous bars and restaurants.

It’s 5.9 miles from Union Street.

Wherever AFC relocated to would never suit “everyone”

AFC is supposedly our passion

The board and its directors are all successful businessmen who have done their due diligence on this whole process and earned the right to drive this.

If you support Aberdeen you’ll find a way and it’ll become the norm.

It’s the 21st Century and our stadium is still in the 19th.

Let’s get behind the club and help them move forward. Moving is a necessity now.

By relocating to Kingsford, what are AFC doing that’s any different to you and I moving home?

None if you are young and fit and it’s during the day. Many  aren’t George and neither  are you. No one would walk along that road at night ..

Many aren't George? What's that mean? And no I'm not a George so 1/2 point for that.  And the road is perfectly walkable any time of day. You do know how to walk right? I'm seriously beginning to wonder.

If you aren’t George, you are one of his relatives ( did that go over your head too?)

How many fans would walk four miles (twice)  on a road with traffic, with no footpaths, in darkness in winter to get to and from a game ?

You certainly wouldn’t at your age.

Credit to you if you tried. Now leave it at that.

I can't help but be convinced that a move is the best thing for Aberdeen.  To the fucking moon.

It is the sort of patronizing horse shit that a cockwomble like, say, "a successful businessman"would spout because he has done (sic) "due diligence on this whole process and earned the right to drive this" and hasn't, in fact, neglected his duty of care to the local football club, painted himself into a fucking corner financially and by the time a Gold Egg laying Goose lands in his lap and clears up his fiscal f**k-ups he would have to spend a shit-load of additional money to cover said neglect.

The moon is only 252.45 thousand miles from Union Street  If you support Aberdeen you’ll find a way and it’ll become the norm.

Well I walked to Westhill quite recently to be fair. I'd agree it's not likely many or any would, but you're saying people *can't*, which is of course sharn.

Maybe it is, in this case however it was posted by a Westhill resident.

You know the four clubs you mentioned saying had never loved stadium, have all moved stadium at some point.

And you can't keep trying to say staying at Pittodrie is the sensible option, when the answers to how we do it are "just build one stand at a time," "reduce capacity", "just spend more money" and "Sure if we try hard enough we could find a way".
