Boab17
Viewfield Rovers AFC begin their preparations for 2018-19 season soon. With players from last year leaving and others coming in it is likely to be a busy period for the committee. As ever we are putting on my usual pre-season post enquiring about players that may be interested in joining the club. Should you be interested please contact us through message on here. We have currently revamped the committee and the management team and have begun revamping the playing squad with 8 new players introduced in the last week or so. We will be recruiting at a decent level with some of the 8 players coming from Junior ranks and others from other sources. This is a club you want to play for with the facilities and the professionalism that will be evident in the coming season. No predictions are being made other than we look to substantially improve on last years league standing which in itself was a huge improvement on the season before that. We will be training twice a week nd games 2pm on a Saturday, pre-season begins 16th June 12pm at Viewfield Park

Boab17
This Saturday brings the new look squad (or some of them) together for the first time. We would like to welcome Jordan Burt to the club before he goes on holiday (Jordan played a couple games at the end of last season) who has agreed to sign on for this year. Jordan brings goals to the team as his record in the few games he played with us at the end shows. Player: Jordan Burt Age: 21 Position: Striker Previous Clubs: Irvine Victoria, Muirkirk Juniors, Kilwinning Rangers 19's

Its a total rebuild with only a handful remaining from last season. We are under no illusions mate it going to be tough but if we can get ourselves organised early we will be in a much better place. Viewfield were a massive name in the amateur game and have facilities to match most junior teams. With your youth set up now started we can only hope that we are on the up but ive been in the game long enough to know that dedication and effort is the key. Boab17
Was great to be back at the side of the park on Saturday as we played our first preseason friendly. We welcomed Newshot AFC to Viewfield. Newshot were winners of Greater Glasgow League and League Cup last season so it was always going to be a stern test for our new squad. This wasn't played as a friendly as the visitors threw in a few meaty challenges early doors. This was a great test of character for the boys who took to the challenge and ran out 2-1 victors. It was a game we controlled well apart from a 15 minute spell in the second half. Some decent performances and a good hard shift. Training tomorrow night nd game against Lancraigs on Thursday night at home.

GK Coach Cheers coach I only post on here for my players to see what the club used to be like and hopefully attract good players that want to help revive a club with an unbroken history in the Amateur ranks. Paint it any way you want but SC finalist 3 years and winning in 2004 is a history to be proud of as is the setup which we are constantly upgrading. A lot of heartache in the last few years 2 seasons ago not even winning a point. An improvement last year and hopefully further improvement this season. It may not be me that gets them back to where they belong but hopefully myself and the rest of the hard working committee can provide the platform. Boab17
Thursday 12th. Viewfield v Lancraigs The visitors came out the block sharp and caused all sorts of problems. Viewfield with 5 new faces struggled to get into the match but went 1 nil up against the run of play. Lancraigs equalized shortly after. That was the spur we needed as we started to get a grip of the game. 2nd half was dominated by quick decisive forward play with another 3 goals without reply. Lancraigs look a good young team and all the best for the season. Scorers. Murtagh x 2 Burt Spence
Boab17
Saturday 14th v Ardencaple Not a great start to the day with our goalkeeper pulling out an hour before ko and 4 players that have started and played 90 minutes every game so far missing, but this is preseason and this is what its for to see the calibre of other players. Ardencaple were very fit and well organised in the first half as Viewfield struggled to get into the game. Ardencaple hit the woodwork twice from free kicks and were defo the better team. However there goal and only one of the game came from a free kick that if there honest a proper keeper would have saved. 2nd half was the complete oppposite as viewfield took the game to them and restricted them to very few chances our stand in keeper did not ve a save to make 2nd half. But we just couldnt find the net despite intense pressure. We managed to get a look at other players so the run out was well worth it.

Boab17
The club would like to welcome Steven 'Esty' McKinnon to the squad. Steven is an ex Muirkirk Juniors striker that will add a lot of pace and energy to the attacking line.
