The BU's managed a 5-3 win with this team: Graham, Mitchell, Keenan, Walls, Trialist, McKie, Black, Pinkerton, Buckley, Trialist, Cannon. The goals came from a double from Paddy Buckley, one from Charlie Cannon and two from the trialist number 10, Birrell, from Bayview YC. If anyone knows his first name, please let me know. There was a player called Douglas ( Dougie) Birrell played with the BU,s. Not sure if it was the same player.

Auld Heid
You should start an equivalent thread for your mob. Try finding some pre 1896 results to put in it as well. [emoji38]Just pick up the booklet published in 1989 for our centenary.Informative read - wouldn't appeal to you as not that many pictures....!! -

Would I be right in assuming it was father and son?

Harry Thomson went to Burnley - where he was known as ‘God in a Green jersey ‘and played for around 10 seasons . Later moved to Blackpool and finished his career at Barrow. Sadly passed away in 2013 aged 73. Edited February 2, 2019 by boheesian
