Don't think anyone outside our camp will expect us to get anything at Cove. There's definitely weaknesses to be exploited, though. Conceded seven goals in four games. Go up, play without fear and see what happens.

As an aside, I'd like to see the committee neither accepting or offering hospitality from or to a club whose honorary president (with a stand named after him) played his part in holding us to ransom for our stadium.

Got to be a good point away from home against a team who have made a good start. Great to see a clean sheet. Shane and Kane with a couple of gilt edged chances missed so well done defence including gk.

Looking at it from where I'm sitting, I thought it was a decent point, but wondered what the fans actually thought.

Club thread for that one. For me, blaming the SFA is an excuse for poor performance from our side. We had 18 years to get ready for that fight.

There's no doubt that we made big mistakes, but there's also no doubt that the SFA fucked us over. McRae was a big player in that process. I'd treat his club with the contempt that he treated us. Being too nice was actually part of what brought us to where we are.

I agree but he's still a c**t.

On the balance of play it's two points dropped for Elgin. They should have had the game wrapped up within 55 minutes. Absolutely delighted with the point in those circumstances, although we actually could have snatched it. Not sure why Alfie didn't just smack Salim's perfect assist past the keeper rather than attempt to go round him ( great recovery from the defender mind you)

That's not a strength. It's a weakness. Misty eyed pish, either way.

Is this really the future you are envisaging for us? Wow, you really do want to bring us down to the level of all the clubs around us, don't you?

I don't see us as being superior to any other club at our level, so I don't envisage us as being brought down to anything. Would prefer to leave the misplaced and embarrassing "We Are The People" type superiority stuff to other clubs. Not my cup of tea.

Bring us down. Deary, deary me! We came 40th out of 42 last year.

Having a good commercial business and a winning team doesn't have to compromise the club's ethos. It's a classic mistake of companies going through Change that everything has to lurch from one side of the boat to the other. The middle of the boat is where stability is.

By your own argument you suggested that we were morally superior to Cove. What i'm saying is that I'd like us to show that we are better than them by not treating them with contempt. One day we might need Cove's vote for something and it would be petty and small minded to make enemies with an emerging new league club when it won't change the past. We need friends at every level in the game, and that kind of attitude won't get us very far. Happy to debate further if you want to take this up on the main thread.

I think their honourary President is a c**t, which is different to believing superior to them as a football club. If you think it's appropriate for the committee to potentially be sitting having tea and biscuits with a guy who was involved in putting our club's existence at risk, then we'll have to agree to disagree.

I agree that having tea and biscuits (your words, not mine) would be a step too far, but there's a big difference between not socialising with people and treating them with contempt which I thought you would be smart enough to work out for yourself. Let's leave it there if you don't agree.

Was that not our own Committee 20 years ago?
