AndyDD
Ultimately how they handle things like league standings and the potential hurt feels or sense of hard luck for some football fans is small cheese in the here and now. Beyond the health and well-being of the citizenry, in a football sense the priority is the survival of clubs in this league and others who might be in trouble. I'm sure Celtic, Dundee united, Raith and Cove will be irked if actions are taken that prevent title parties/promotions, but by and large their supporters, and those of all pother clubs, will be far more concerned with more serious matters than football league prizes.
foreverarover
That’s with players signed for the following season, not those from the previous season...hardly fair.So for the last game of the season and say Falkirk are in contention what is to stop them buying a top player for one weeks work.
foreverarover
Will be interesting to see what happens if games at our level cannot be attended, will it include HFL & LL games which could pass a Saturday afternoon until crowds grow too large the Junior games which in some areas would have too large crowds as it is. There will be an impact on the tills at junior games also. Good amounts of junior grounds have social clubs outwith the ground. Are they expected to go into the ground, get a ticket and leave to go to the bar. I could see a load of non junior fans arriving, going in and the regulars in the bar who arrive at kick off being turned away [emoji12][emoji1787]

foreverarover
Aye that sounds shite. Either this season's a bogey and we start again once the virus is gone or we just decide to do 1up/1down or 2up/2down based on latest standings. McGlynn's getting himself in some wee state about it though. It's not McGlynn, it'll be the press looking for a story as there will be f**k all to read in the FFP for the next month or so.

SouthLanarkshireWhite
Pretty dire situation only brightened up by the possibility of any one or all of the following; 1. All declared null and void and N Lennon goes in a big huff along with the unwashed and easily offended as their march to ten in a row is halted. 2. Liverpool lose out on the title again in England AGAIN. 3. Positions as at last Saturday are decided to be final and Thistle come down and play Falkirk next year in the 'we are bigger than youse' League 1 division. Any of the above to set them all bat crazy please.

We’re top now, we were top after the second round of games and top after the third round of games. If they decide to abandon the rest of the season and award the league titles then there is no conceivable way they could give it to anyone else but us. Who knows what they’ll end up doing but at least we’re in a favourable position. Definition of clutching at straws. If they can’t complete the season, it’s done and there is no other option but for it to become void. Your logic that Raith have been top for 3 quarters so deserve to go up is mind boggling considering you’re only 1 point ahead and there’s still a full 4th round of fixtures to be played. Therefore why would they be declared Champions and good enough to replace the bottom side in the division above?…

roman_bairn
Aye it’s an absolute bonkers opinion from the boy.Well to be fair, I’d probably be taking the same position if it was us!Really the key point is there one point between the two teams, we have vastly superior goal difference and home advantage for the remaining fixture. It’s really too close to call a winner.Sadly, it suits neither, but cancelling the season is the only fair solution other than the one I proposed at the start of this thread.....
Mybitchunderprotest
Season ends. No winners or losers, no promotion or relegation and Falkirk have to stay in the diddy league for another season in 2020/21
Mybitchunderprotest
Alternatively finish the season on Football Manager, with the FM20 database updated to include all current squads, managerial changes, injuries, suspensions etc and leave it to autoplay to the end of season. All results final and binding.Or have the A View From The Terrace guys come to a collective bank or bust style decision re promotion and relegation places but only by virtue of a majority decision so R Borthwick may be required to ensure an odd number.
Curler
Wonder how the the sport pages will continue. Surely they can’t talk about the old firm for weeks on end or can they. Will the sport journalist have to earn a living by reporting on more newsworthy events or will they be made redundant?
TxRover
Heard an interesting idea: Championship, League One and League Two.Top 4 teams and Bottom 2 From League above play a tourney. 2 winners stay up or are promoted. 1 v 4 and 3 v 2...then winners are reseeded with higher team facing 10 lower facing 9. For HL/LL, top two in each play to decide one to challenge bottom of League Two team. 1HL v 2 LL, 1LL v 2 HL, then winners to play to decide who plays League Two #10. This would be: Dundee U v Ayr and ICT v Dundee. The higher survivor plays Hearts (10), the lower plays Hamilton (9). Two winners are promoted or remain Premier. Raith v Montrose and Falkirk v Airdrie. The two Championship sides are Patrick (10) and QoS (9). (East Fife are a little hard done here, but someone has to be first out) Cove v Cowdenbeath and Edinburgh v Elgin. The League One teams are Stranraer (10) and Forfar (9). (Cowdenbeath have an argument for being third and avoiding Cove) Kelty v Inverurie and Brora v Bonnyrigg. They then play to determine who face Brechin. (Here Fraserburgh, Rother and Buckie are possibly getting hosed) It isn’t ideaL, but it’s a possible solution.
