Wile E Coyote
See people complaining about how few league games Talbot have played, yes the main reason is success in other Cups but a small part of it is that other clubs are just not interested in playing Talbot when there is a chance of a re-arranged fixture, they are happy for Talbot to sit idle and fall further behind. Example this season is KRR refusing a switch to Beechwood when it was obvious there park would be off. They were even offered a financial incentive to do it and would still have got there home game anyway later in the season. This is not the only example it has happened numerous times over the years. Clubs are not willing to play them even when it has no effect or might even benefit their club. This time it has backfired
RobM
Going to be a bit of an eye opener for Auchinleck if the new WoSL prove to be less amenable to taking it up the ring from them.

When they were juniors they brought nothing but good publicity to that level. They never wanted to win the league that way, they are not responsible for a global pandemic!! The anti Talbot section on this forum is out of order.

Talbot get awarded a title by the same method, plenty of pages over about half a dozen threads. Absolute fucking box office
Andy groundhopper
As expected the West region champions decision has stirred up a hornet's nest, let's move onto next season and hopefully the WOSL clubs can cause a few upsets in the cup again - a big movement forward, stop knocking everything that people say etc. Get behind every club, increased attendances, try helping - would be appreciated by all clubs. The juniors were great but now it's progression.
RobM
Be diferent when they find their level though, just be another bottom division league side now they're leaving their small pond. Absolute fucking Stranraer.

I don't see that as an insult, in fact its pretty insulting to every lower league team in the SPFL. Why the hatred, Still not over those two Junior Cup Finals. Andy groundhopper
Be great if a once junior club could rise through the turmoil and be a spfl club, sure their attendances would be better than the crap 500 some current sides attract - obviously they wouldn't be winning stuff every season but let's applaud the ambition. If all fails, they wouldn't be the first club to bigger things up.
BC63
Why? There was still a few good teams left in the cup. Unfortunately it will be scrapped. Just waiting on Talbot being declared Scottish cup winners now
Andy groundhopper
Can't see the likes of Auchinleck saying 'one day we'll be as big as Stranraer,Albion etc ' think some of the lower div2 teams have found their level - on the verge of the Lowland LGE without a fight and unable to buy their way out. Can't imagine that little Cove had any big ideas 10 years ago, not quite a Gretna situation, but maybe some spfl clubs have had their day.

The SJFA taking it up the ring to ensure both were at Rugby Park still grates a bit though. Might be a bit of a shock for y'all when the new associations won't lube up for ye and you can't get the toon bus along to finals though.

They'd have won it by at least 8 points, that's counting in dropping a few due to the amount of games in a short time.

I worry about the like's of the Clyde's and Alloa's should they have a bad few seasons.

We played Linlithgow at Livingston, we played Shotts at Livingston, actually having to drive past Shotts to get to it, we played Pollok in Glasgow a few miles from their ground, we played Newtongrange at Falkirk (not particularly close to them but a lot closer than Auchinleck is) You might have an argument about the distance Musselburgh had to travel but to say its because the SJFA favours Talbot makes you out to be an absolute lunatic frankly and not to be taken seriouly

I was saying you had a point if you didn't think the venue was equidistant but I was disproving your laughable assertion that it was done to favour Talbot and I gave you some examples where Talbot were the team who had to travel furthest. In all the Finals Talbot have been in I think there were only three where Talbot were favoured distance wise Mussleburgh twice and Bathgate. All the others were either fair distance wise or favoured the opposition IMO

The SJFA had nothing to do with the league title it was the WSJFA who awarded it.
