Null and void now and let teams prepare properly for a new season.

There's no LL play-off so no late May deadline, and from the NCL fixtures the latest would seem to be 30th June. Must be feasible to be done by then, just whether the clubs want to. 1 minute ago, kleptomaniac said: In addition you could be playing up to 26th June get three weeks off and then straight into a new season starts again. Well not quite, because you could start a couple of weeks later than for example the WOS (proposed 17th July) because the EOS will be back to a 16 team Premier Division so fewer games.

The bottom clubs don't want to play because more than likely they will be relegated, the bottom two are so far gone the bookies stopped taking bets ages ago.

Well, have a bash at a fixture list and prove it... No contact training until 17th May or cross region travelling allowed until then. There's been no football at full tilt for months, so allow at least 3 weeks pre-season to get players up to pace safely. At a push, there are 4 weeks left to play more games of football than some clubs could manage in 10 weeks earlier in the season. Then 3 weeks off before the new season starts. All of the above with no supporters, vastly reduced income, no dressing rooms and plenty cost that does not justify the marginal benefits, if there are any, for the majority of clubs. And bearing in mind around 48% of them didn't want to start this season in the first place.

Null and void now and let teams prepare properly for a new season.Get next season started on 17th July (hopefully with fans) which will allow slack to be built in to the schedule in the unlikely event of any stoppages. Prioritise league games so we're over 50% as soon as practically possible just in case. SCC could then start after the turn of the year all being well, same with the other cups. Scottish Cup the only one played in 2021, or at least only 1 round of another Cup. Lots of ways to build in contingencies.

Only fair that someone is promoted to the Lowland League. Only fair that many who have spent last 2 seasons in conferences will now have an opportunity to join the premier League. Only fair that the following campaign will then see a more balanced pyramid with competitive divisions below instead of conferences that for the past 2 seasons have been nothing more than meaningless friendlies. It is also highly unlikely that as many weeks as some think are required to determine the winners and losers either. One or two positions at most will remain undecided until the last game depending on how the fixtures are played out. Every game involving the majority will be like a cup final . What better way is there to entice fans who are desperate to get back in supporting their clubs who are desperate for funds being boosted. What fans? They still won't be allowed in to the ground. Hard to ignore the advice of the Board, who are looking at it objectively and with selflessness.

The situation back then was entirely different from what it is now so I’d reckon whatever the % it will be largely less now. If it’s not and remains the same and you add to that the excuses in here from certain officials that it would be unfair to expect their committee to play twice a week then you might as well declare next season null and void right now. With the benefit of hindsight, I suspect even more clubs realize it was a daft decision to start.

Strange, your last post on here was last month "we wont need to worry about that... heard last night that Scottish Govt routemap has adult football to begin from 17/5.. far too late to get the season up and running.. so another season of null & void it is.. " So what do you think should happen? Edited April 9, 2021 by Burnieman

Truthteller
The fixtures secretary had previously said at a league meeting that it would take 3 weeks to complete the 50% threshold (his words, not mine) and that the end of the season is 30th June. If this is the case then these games could start on Saturday 12th June and be finished for the end of June.

Based on your innate inner knowledge of every individual committee/Board covering the almost 50 clubs. Aye right!!! In this game the left hand certainly never knows what the right hand is doing. The recent Dundonald foray into options illustrated some very strange clubs agreeing/disagreeing with them.
Buzzwoody
Irrespective if I’m for or against either option, the way I see it is whatever the outcome we will have people unhappy. The fate at least is in the hands of the clubs to decide, we could argue till the cows come home this way or that way but come on guys at least we’re all here breathing to live another day/season. the positive thing is at least we will know Sunday evening the way forward.
bluebell1
Why is the “management” committee not make a decision. Why is the vote to null and void or play only. Why is declaring on ppg not a voting option. An absolute shambles for me, gotta play now give a club the chance of promotion and get the leagues sorted for a 16 team premier league august start.

Please can someone explain where the thousands and thousands of pounds to pay for testing will come from. What if a club simply cannot afford the cost??

Once adult contact sports are allowed again from May 17th forward there is no need for testing. You’ll be right. But why do EoS say there’s lab costs of £1750 approx per club per game. Or Mibby I’ve been misinformed. It happens
LongTimeLurker
That's definitely how things would be prior to May 17th, so think the issue may be with the context.
